On 25 February 1977, the first album by the British band Ultravox was released.
Titled after the band's name, it is a seminal work in the history of post-punk and new wave music. Although it was not a huge commercial success at the time, the album is now considered a classic of the genre.
Through the use of synthesizers and guitars, coupled with the haunting and sophisticated voice of singer John Foxx, the whole album manages to create a dark, anguished and melancholic atmosphere.
The best known and most famous song on the album is "Dangerous Rhythm", a track with a catchy guitar riff and lyrics about the dangers and excitement of nightlife in the city of London.
Influenced by bands such as David Bowie, Roxy Music and Kraftwerk, Britain's Ultravox became a benchmark of techno pop creating an innovative and futuristic sound widely recognised and admired by subsequent generations of musicians and fans of the genre.
