Happy Thursday friends of hive😌, and happy Jamhuri day to my country, Kenya❤️. Welcome to my day's activity log.
To say that today I did much would be cheating; I barely did enough. Given that today was a public holiday, in commemoration of the day we, Kenya, became a Republic, I was not going in for work.
I had anticipated waking up early to go for a morning walk at the beach. Unfortunately my body and mind had other plans for me. I woke up somehow late but I still decided to go for that walk, it's been a while since I went for a beach walk despite living near one😏.
In today's walk I decided to be mindful of my environment, the little details, the people on my path.
I passed some barefooted kids on the way and they brought back some memories from my childhood where I preferred staying barefooted rather than wear shoes. Right now I can't imagine being barefooted, even in the house I have to wear socks😂🤦. If they allowed one to bathe with socks, I would gladly do so🥲.

Another thing that caught my eyes on the walk is a certain big tree; we call it, mbuyu, that has shed it's leaves making it stand out from other trees like a giant with it's gigantic feature.
The canopy walk was the best part of my walk. Even though it was a short pass, it was worth it. It made me feel like I was walking down the isle; only with no groom waiting😂. It's the reason I love that certain track to the beach.
By now I was almost at the beach. I had anticipated to find the ocean full and wavy,so that I could gaze at the waves and be lost in them but the joke was on me😂; there was no water😭😂😂, the ocean was gone, as we sometimes say, it has gone for "lunch".
You could even see the floor of the ocean; where, when it's full, we consider that floor area deep sea☺️ but as for this morning it was just algae.
In the process, I made a friend who took photos of me as he tried to shoot his shot😂. It was nice of him because he registered my first laugh of the day😌. I almost drew the map of Africa😂😂🤦.

Even though he was kind, I had to go for I still had my day planned and I intended to stick to the schedule. I thanked him for the photoshoot and walked on along the coastline immersing in the wonders of creation, wondering how God does it.
However, my walk was unfortunately cut off by some light rainfall and I had to find shelter which I did in a group of boda boda riders, who wanted to take me home on their bikes; but at a fee🤭. I humbly declined(I knew the showers would clear up soon) and decided why not sit with them; which am glad I did because they were a vibe😊.
A few moments later, the showers were gone and the sun was up. I decided to head back home; adios Indian Ocean. I hoped for an uneventful walk back but with the sun getting hotter by the minute, my head started to ache. Although where I stay ain't that far from the beach, I felt like I was taking eternity getting back.
Upon arrival, I took some pain meds and a shower and hopped on the bed for a nap. I had to cancel my schedule for a nap; reason why I said at the beginning, "to say that I did much today would be cheating".
