I went to an ophthalmologist today. Although the temperature in Kyoto nowadays still rises to about 30 degrees Celsius in the afternoon, it is much cooler in the morning. So I was able to go to the ophthalmologist's office today without feeling too depressed.
I left my house at 7:45 a.m. and the bus was almost full, but I was able to sit on a seat when many people finally got off in front of JR Nijo Station. It took about 30 minutes to get to the bus stop closest to the ophthalmologist's office, and from there it was a 10-minute walk to the ophthalmologist's office.
The ophthalmologist was not too crowded, and I was able to have a smooth eye pressure and vision test, an eye photo taken, and the examination was over quickly. There was nothing unusual. I had the ophthalmologist change my eye drops to generic medication because of the cost of the medication. The next examination will be in December. I also made an appointment for a visual field test in February next year.
The first one is a park where I stopped by on my way home from the eye clinic. There were people sitting on benches, drinking drinks and reading books. A group of kindergarteners were also playing. I sat on a bench for a while and relaxed. It was too hot to go there during the summer, but from now on, I can use this park for waiting for hospital hours.
The second picture is higanbana (higanbana). I usually go there to sketch the higanbana that line the footpaths between rice paddies, but this year I could not go there. They usually bloom around the time of the autumnal equinox,
But this year, they bloomed about a week later than usual. Still, I was happy to see the beautiful higanbana blooming again this year.
The third picture is the fruit of the bitter melon planted in front of the old house. I think it is a little late for the bitter melons to bear fruit. I liked the austere colors of the old house and the bitter melons.

今日は眼科へ行ってきました。昼はまだ30℃くらいまで気温が上がる今の京都ですが、朝はだいぶ涼しくなりました。だから今日はあまり憂鬱にならずに眼科へ行くことができました。
自宅を朝の7時45分に出て、乗ったバスはほぼ満員でした。JR二条駅前でようやく多数の人が降りたので座席に座ることができました。まあ通勤通学の時間帯だから仕方がないですね。30分ほどで眼科の最寄りのバス停に着いて、そこから10分ほど歩いて眼科に着きました。
眼科もそれほど混んでおらず、スムーズに眼圧と視力の検査、眼の写真撮影ができ、診察もすぐに終わりました。特に変わりはなかったです。薬代がかかるので点眼薬をジェネリック医薬品に変更してもらいました。次は12月に診察があります。あと来年２月に視野検査をするというのでその予約もしました。
今日撮った写真の説明をします。１枚目は眼科の帰りに立ち寄った公園です。公園にはベンチに座って飲み物を飲んだり本を読んだりしている人がいました。幼稚園児の集団も遊びに興じていました。私も少しの間ベンチに座ってくつろぎました。夏の間は暑すぎて行けませんでしたが、これからは病院の時間待ちにもこの公園は使えそうです。
２枚目は彼岸花です。いつもは田んぼの畦道にずらーっと並んでいる彼岸花のスケッチに行くのですが、今年は行けませんでした。そもそもいつもなら秋分の日頃に咲くのですが、
今年は１週間ほど遅れて今頃咲いていました。それでも今年も彼岸花が美しく咲いているのを見られて嬉しかったです。
３枚目は古民家の前に植えられていたゴーヤの実です。ゴーヤが実るのも少々遅いような気がします。古民家とゴーヤの実の渋い色彩が気に入って撮りました。

I am an optician by trade and am wondering; the drops are for? Most times I would think glaucoma.
We do some visual fields tests in our office as well. It's good to take care of your eyes.
I used to watch At Home with Venetia in Kyoto. I am wondering if you are familiar with her or her show? She always showed how to make natural things from various ingredients. It was interesting to me.

Yes, I have glaucoma. If I don't take care of my eyes, I won't be able to paint, so I visit the ophthalmologist regularly and apply eye drops as directed by the doctor.
I did not know about that program. I will watch it next time.
