If you ever feel two songs sound the same way especially because of the rhythm and beat. It may be the voice as well but as a musically inclined person that I am, I know that we can sing ten particular songs on a beat.
These days, a lot of producers don’t need to stress themselves making beats anymore. What they do is add some touches to the beat to make it sound a beat different. Some music producers also add a bridge to the song which is like adding another beat to the song entirely.
Also, that’s why DJ mixes are a bit easy these days. With the level of technology we have these days, we can now mix songs and place even a hundred somgs that sounds alike.
I’d be sharing two songs by two different artistes and a different beat that we can sing those two songs on.
We all know Runtown did a good job with this song and this is a simple and classy Afro beat but what if I tell you that Simi’s Duduke also have a similarity with this song. When I say similarity, I mean the beat type and we can even place the rhythm side by side.
I feel you don’t have to be a DJ before you know songs that can be placed side by side. These two songs can be mixed on any of these two beats and it will give a reasonable sound.
Let’s have an example of beat that they can be mixed on.
This beat should be called, perfecto. There is no doubt that this beat goes well with the two songs. That’s one of the basic relationships between songs. This means that if Runtown or Simi had used this instrumental in any of the two songs I uploaded earlier, it will still sound nice.
I know these songs sound alike but songs don’t even have to sound alike before we relate them to another beat. This is why I mentioned earlier that a rap song can be placed on an Afro kind of beat or even on an Amapiano kind of beat and it will still sound good.
Imagining that? Let’s have an example of what I’m talking about.
I think Roddy Ricch’s “Die Young” is the perfect example of the combo I’m about to create right now. Let’s just give it an Afro beat. When I give the Afro beat, sing along Roddy Ricch to know if it’s a great combo or not.
Sing along and give me a feedback. I’m not capping but I know the feedback will be great.
Finally, the relationship between music beats and the rhythm of the artiste is really important. If they go and flow well, the disc jockey won’t find it difficult to introduce a song to another type of beat.
Also, the importance of disc jockeys should never be underestimated. They are the real mixers and they even give songs life.
Thanks for reading.
Wao! Splendid work done here discussing about beats and songs. Indeed, I have always thought that many of our producers are lazy and do not work to produce unique beats, hehe.
Thanks for appreciating my work and discovery
