Greetings Everyone , I have been away for a while . Hope you have been doing well and had a great new years. !
This is my first post of 2025 . So I was at the studio recently . We were recording our new single for the band Thakara ( which I also play Synths for ) . They have this incredible German piano that's literally 100 years old. The thing is just beautiful . And just feeling the vibe of this amazing instrument. There's something about those old pianos, they just have this warm, rich sound that hits different.
During our break session I sat down and started playing these R&B chords from the song Best Part By 'Daniel Caesar ' . Next thing you know, my friend (who's got this killer voice btw) started singing along. Then another friend jumped in with harmonies .It was a beautiful moment , We ended up losing track of time, just vibing and creating music on this antique piano. The whole studio had this magical energy - like the piano had stories to tell and we were adding our own chapter to its history.
Here is a small section of the Impromptu jam We Had in the Studio . Towards the end my friend also tried out some Indian Carnatic Ragas on the same chord progression And it was like East meets West in the most beautiful way possible!
