What an incredible turnout! From the guests to the musicians it would seem that everyone is putting 100% into making Andy's Club something really special.
Andy's club was the brainchild of Andy himself and
he reluctantly agreed, with our nagging, to accept the name! It just sounds... right!
This time around things were much bigger with 4 times the guests and a lineup of great musicians. We even had two musicians who are new to Andy's and the scene in general, show up and give us the best of what they had and rocked our socks off!
First up was Andy Mercer himself, to introduce the evening himself and share his very special compositions with us. He composes on both the piano and the guitar and is a songwriter. All the songs he played on the evening were his own and that reflects some amazing talent!
Martin Prochaska, who manages one of the busiest beachfront cocktail and dining spots on the West Coast, was next with his incredible talent. He plays left handed guitar, which is a feat on it's own, but Martin brings his own incredibly funky and jazzy vibe to the stage. He also has natural showmanship and had the crowd hanging on every chord. What an incredible performance and a massive breakthrough from the shy guy we met a few weeks ago!
Matt Roux was next with a set of originals only! Matt is a talented and well established musician on the west coast and beyond and plays just about anywhere he can! He has shows from shore to shore and each one is unique as he brings his own captivating, stellar magic to the stage. Matt is an extremely talented musician and songwriter and is an incredible showman, absolutely owning that stage!
Matt Roux also mentors many musicians and was part of the formation of Andy's club, following the realization between them that there was nothing like this on the West Coast for musicians to get out of their shells, onto a stage and be blessed with an appreciative listening audience.
Next up was us! MobeyDick consists of @jasperdick and myself @clairemobey. We were childhood friends but have reunited in later life to explore our love of music. We've grown leaps and bounds as a duo and came out on this evening with three brand new original songs! One from Jasper and two from me! We are excited to share our new music with more venues and are looking forward to growing and recording this year.
After us, our audience were graced by bonus performances from Tristin de Lange and Jayson Vos. It was so wonderful to see them performing as new arrivals and showcasing their truly awesome talent! I would definitely watch out for these two!

Right? Music is the one thing that really connects us all. Even if it's written in a language that we don't speak at all, so much is conveyed by expression and emotion.
