Esta es la muestra de Piragüero del Maestro Chelique Sarabia, nuestra coordinadora General Maritza Reddy contactó vía telefónica a María De Jesús Sifonte (viuda de Chelique Sarabia) y a César González (Director de la CPO) para que expongan detalles sobre la pieza.
Rehearsals are in full swing in the final stretch for the concert Por todos los caminos del afecto is a musical event to be held on October 27th at 7:00pm at the Eurobuilding Hotel in Lechería, we share another of our rehearsals.
The sample of Piragüero by Maestro Chelique Sarabia, our General Coordinator Maritza Reddy contacted María De Jesús Sifonte (Chelique Sarabia's widow) and César González (Director of the CPO) via telephone to share details about the piece.
¿Para quién compone el maestro Chelique esta canción?
Chelique Sarabia compone esta canción en honor a los Pescadores de su muy querida Isla de Margarita, donde nació el 13 de marzo de 1940.
Los "ñeros" se van a la mar a su faena y se encomiendan a la Virgen del Valle, su Capitana...que les vaya bien, les cuide su rancho y hacen la promesa, aferrados a la fe, por un feliz regreso y de conseguir una perla buena y grande se la van a regalar...pa'que siempre les acompañe.
¿Quiénes la interpretaron?
La interpreta y graba María Teresa Chacín en su segunda producción discográfica con Chelique Sarabia y su conjunto.
Posteriormente Chelique produce un disco de Música Margariteña destacando la voz de Daniel Marcano, donde también la incluye.

¿Quién lleva la melodía?
Piraguero es un golpe oriental donde la contralto tiene especial protagonismo ya que tiene la melodia durante toda la obra y solo es reforzada por las demas voces en el coro.

For whom does Maestro Chelique compose this song?
Chelique Sarabia composes this song in honor of the Fishermen of his beloved Margarita Island, where he was born on March 13, 1940.
The "ñeros" go to sea to do their work and entrust themselves to the Virgin of the Valley, their Captain... may they do well, take care of their ranch and they make the promise, clinging to faith, for a happy return and If they get a good and big pearl, they will give it to them...so that it will always be with them.
