It looks like a great project! I love all these percussive instruments, especially when you add a shaker to them (I know it is optional). These percussive instruments make magic when they are added to a project.
I see you guys using a condenser mic to record all the Timbales instrument at once and two dynamic mics to capture the conga sounds. I haven't used dynamic mics in a studio project to work on their sounds and understand their recording quality, but it’s interesting to hear the final result of your project. I'm sure it will be a great mix.

A shaker is all the time part of this kind of music and sounds wonderful, but in this case, I won't use it, because the timbales beaten at the sides together with the hi-hat (yes, there will be a drumset too) will fulfill that job... 😉
The sound engineer doesn't have many resources, but he knows how to use what he has very well!
