One of my favourite bands, here are the main releases by earthtone9.

They were a band from the UK who played a interesting combination of alternative metal and progressive metal with a sprinkling of post-hardcore for good measure. Their early releases were critically acclaimed and they quickly built up a cult underground following. Unfortunately they never received the commercial success they thoroughly deserved.

The top 5 CDs in the images are the initial releases (2 Eps and 3 albums) before they split-up. 10 years later they released a 'greatest hits' record and then briefly reformed to release an Ep and a full album via pledge music.

First Phase

Omega (8 April 2002)
Hi-Point (rem) (23 August 2004)

Second Phase
Inside, Embers Glow... (compilation) 1998-2002 (1 June 2010)
For Cause & Consequence (16 May 2011)

This was the first set by an artist/band that I felt compelled to collect, which involved paying over £30 for a decent copy of 'arc'tan'gent as I couldn't find a copy for sale anywhere. The album is the undisputed highlight of their short career. I just had to own it.

This was nearly 20 years ago when the internet was no way near as accessible as it is now. There are copies on discogs for sale for a mere £3... oh well.

While my taste in music has since changed, these albums will always remain special.

Recommended Tracks

Revelation (taken from the Omega EP)

Tat Twam Asi (taken from the album arc'tan'gent)

Binary 101 (also taken from the album arc'tan'gent)
