I was going to write a review on this album, but there is no way I could keep it unbiased because if I am honest, I am obsessed with this album. I could listen to it for hours on end and never get bored.
In the first image, you can see 2 versions of the same album Blackjazz by Shining (the Norwegian band, not the Swedish band of the same name). The CD I bought 10 years ago after hearing the single 'Fisheye'...
...after the first listen I was completely hooked. It is a chaotic mix of avante-garde black metal fused with jazz influences. That might make it sound un-listenable but the band make it work, and I can assure you some parts of it are insanely catchy.
So yes, its one of my top 5 records of all time, so when I found out there was a 10th Anniversary Vinyl Edition due to be released this year, I immediately threw money at them. I had to have it!
And once it eventually arrived after coronavirus played havoc with the postal service just a few weeks I found that that it had been signed too!
I know this won't be everyone's cup of tea, but if you fancy listening to something genuinely unique and ground breaking, I urge you to give it listen.

Im intrigued! Only so little bands dare to crossover this line with metal and jazz in there, and this one needs a full on attention in listening. Not as background music, but full attention.
Have you ever heard of Candiria? A band from a while back who also had (in a totally different way. Maybe something for you

Nope, Candiria is new to me... but that sounds very interesting, and is certainly well worth looking into and checking out the rest of their work.
