I hope the other towns you're looking to perform at are a little bit closer than the 400 miles you traveled for this last gig. You may also want to make sure that your performance doesn't follow a comedian.

As much as it has got to be fun to perform in front of a live audience, a few bucks in the pocket after the gig, I'm sure would be nice. Business decisions can be tough to make.
