Hola amigos || Hello friends
Seguimos en una edición más de Bandas de mi ciudad. En nuestra ciudad hubo bandas de todo tipo de hecho siempre ha habido una gran variedad no solo fue el rock y que podríamos encontrar bandas de ska, punk y hasta del mismo reggae y es de este último mencionado del que vamos a referirnos hoy. Como sabemos, el arte en general es una muy buena influencia para expresar lo que sentimos y la música no escapa de ese sentir. En Venezuela desde hace algunos años vivimos situaciones muy difíciles temas políticos principalmente del que no profundizaré acá pues no es el punto de concentración que quiero.
We continue in another edition of Bandas de mi ciudad. In our city there were bands of all kinds in fact there has always been a great variety not only was rock and we could find bands of ska, punk and even the same reggae and it is of the latter mentioned that we will refer today. As we know, art in general is a very good influence to express what we feel and music does not escape from that feeling. In Venezuela for some years we have been living very difficult situations, mainly political issues, which I will not go into here because it is not the point of concentration that I want.
En cierto que el rock fue una de esas maneras de expresar la desigualdad de pensamientos o de alguna forma reclamar a otros lo que hacen mal pero no olvidemos que el Ska es uno de esos otros géneros que expresan de manera artística sus desacuerdos y el reggae es uno de esos principales géneros en que la gente consiguió por así decirlo, un gran escudo. Uno de los mayores exponentes del reggae fue el gran Bob Marley y su lucha musical estaba dirigida a transmitir mensajes de paz, amor, libertad, unidad, resistencia y esperanza. Uno de los artistas más esperanzador de los tiempos.
It is true that rock was one of those ways to express the inequality of thoughts or somehow claim to others what they do wrong but let's not forget that Ska is one of those other genres that express in an artistic way their disagreements and reggae is one of those main genres in which people got, so to speak, a great shield. One of the greatest exponents of reggae was the great Bob Marley and his musical struggle was aimed at conveying messages of peace, love, freedom, unity, resistance and hope. One of the most hopeful artists of the times.
Y hablo de Marley porque como mencioné hoy hablaremos del reggae y principalmente de que se hace en mi ciudad. Hace aproximadamente 8 o 7 años atrás se creó una banda llamada Breddas la cual recuerdo que cuando la mencionaban no le paraba mucha pelota de hecho logré conocer su música gracias a los festivales Nuevas Bandas que logré conocerlos. Sí, se acercaba la fecha de competencia y en Cumaná ya se estaban poniendo a tonos todas las bandas activas de la ciudad entre ellas estaba Teleport, Apix y los Breddas. En el momento confieso que estaba apoyando a mi hermano Wilins y su banda Teleport pero al escuchar a los Breddas fue una gran explosión de emociones y es que la vibra de su música fue algo memorable.
And I talk about Marley because as I mentioned today we will talk about reggae and mainly about what is done in my city. About 8 or 7 years ago a band called Breddas was created and I remember that when they mentioned it I didn't pay much attention to it, in fact I got to know their music thanks to the Nuevas Bandas festivals where I got to know them. Yes, the date of the competition was approaching and in Cumaná all the active bands of the city were already getting ready to play, among them were Teleport, Apix and the Breddas. At the time I confess that I was supporting my brother Wilins and his band Teleport but listening to the Breddas was a great explosion of emotions and the vibe of their music was something memorable.
No lograron ganar esa dicha edición de festival Nuevas Bandas aun así supieron mantener no solo su nombre en el escenario si no, la de su ciudad. Nuevamente unos cumaneses representando el oriente del país. Músicos muy jóvenes que emprendían su expedición musical pero haciéndolo de manera magistral soy hoy en día otra de las bandas más recordadas de la ciudad. Los Breddas tuvieron la oportunidad de estar en tarima con los grandes de Desorden Público y no solo eso si no, la aprobación del mismo Horacio blanco quien es el líder de los Desorden Público de allí tuvieron la oportunidad de trabajar a su lado y esto fue de gran ayuda para la banda pues lo otorgó mucho más disciplina y profesionalismo a los Breddas.
They did not manage to win this edition of the Nuevas Bandas festival, but they knew how to keep not only their name on the stage, but also that of their city. Once again, some people from Cuman representing the eastern part of the country. Very young musicians that undertook their musical expedition but doing it in a masterful way, I am today another of the most remembered bands of the city. The Breddas had the opportunity to be on stage with the greats of Desorden Público and not only that but also the approval of Horacio Blanco himself who is the leader of Desorden Público, from there they had the opportunity to work with him and this was a great help for the band because it gave much more discipline and professionalism to the Breddas.
Hoy se encuentran divulgando su arte en otro país, exactamente Argentina donde se encuentran activos y tarimas buscando la oportunidad de sus vidas. Su arte logra captar de manera contundente la atención del oyente te guste o no el reggae. Su formación recrea muy bien los años dorados del gran Bob Marley y lo digo por las voces femeninas espectaculares que tienen, su enfoque, el performance y la gran energía que tienen. Quiero dejarles estas tres canciones para que se disfruten de un buen reggae hecho en casa. Espero que disfruten y poder leer sus opiniones de los Breddas.
Today they are spreading their art in another country, exactly Argentina where they are active and looking for the opportunity of their lives. Their art manages to capture in a forceful way the attention of the listener whether you like reggae or not. Their formation recreates very well the golden years of the great Bob Marley and I say this because of the spectacular female voices they have, their approach, the performance and the great energy they have. I want to leave these three songs for you to enjoy a good homemade reggae. I hope you enjoy and I hope to read your opinions of the Breddas.

Qué recuerdos!! Que Wilins no sepa que no lo apoyaste! jajaja. Recuerdo que había lugares emblemáticos para hacer esas competencias. Por un tiempo fue el escenario de la República Argentina, también la Concha acústica del parque Guaquerí y hasta en las famosas olimpiadas playeras. Gracias por esos recuerdos y por el video de ñapa! abrazos
Ja ja ja... Igual lo apoyaba a él pero estaba difícil cuando la movida en ese entonces la estaba consolidando el reggae. Esto debido a la nueva generación de bandas reggae que estaban saliendo.
Fueron momentos muy emotivos que por supuesto valen la pena recordar y porqué no volver a vivir?
Their performance though is a replicate of legend singers like lucky dube, and yeah like you said bob Marley, this is like the spanish version of it and it rhymes so well

Thank you my friend. Yes, that's one of my favorite things about them. They are good guys and incredibly talented musically. Let's hope that these valuable times will make them the protagonist of the music scene in my city again.
