Dynamic: day 7 of 365 recommending 1 album per day. [Eng-Esp].

in Music6 months ago (edited)

It's been a little over a week since I set out to do this challenge of recommending an album every day. Due to the particularities of the platform, I have not been able to fulfill that, so I modified it to recommending 365 albums. I am doing it by decades, so we are still in the 1950s.

The intention is not for them to be the best albums, just to recommend albums that I like or that I consider influential. That's why today I want to recommend "Gospel Train" by Sister Rosetta Tharpe. Perhaps forgotten, but she is considered the mother of rock and roll. She was a completely revolutionary woman for her time - a guitarist, a woman, and black.

People like Johnny Cash, Chuck Berry, Elvis, and Little Richard admired her. Her first steps were in gospel music in the church. She was heavily criticized by evangelicals because she combined evangelical lyrics with rhythms not widely accepted like blues, and she played the guitar, which was also not widely accepted. She was very successful until she was overshadowed by later, more famous and male figures. Only in 2018 was she inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. For those who do not know her, I hope this video is an opportunity to get to know her. Let me know in the comments which album you think I cannot miss recommending on this list of 365 albums.

owwwww ... you did it! I had to listen to recognise her. By name, I was like: Who is she?

365 days instead of a year: I think you made a great decision. this relieves you from the pressure to post every single day while you can also post about something else in between if you wish. who would've thought that dropping a single word gives such flexibility and freedom, it's like Jazz I suppose, no rules, just guidelines or something? 🙃

Wow, I was close to surprising you! Haha, I love it. Yes, just a small change. I plan to publish some of my poems in the literary community in the coming days and explore other communities.

Going dynamic is good against boredom. NJOY the explorations and the poem section 🙃
