Supertramp are once again shining brightly on stage with their revamped album ‘Paris’.
Despite the tensions that have arisen between the band members in recent years, John Helliwell expresses his enthusiasm for the revision of what he considers the highlight of their career: the new ‘Live in Paris “79”.
In an interview with UCR via Zoom from his home in England, Helliwell says: ‘It's always been a cornerstone of our career.
This release is not simply a reissue of the 1980 concert album ‘Paris’.

Instead, it offers recordings from different nights of Supertramp's show at the 8,000-capacity Pavillon de Paris, specifically from the 1 and 2 December concerts, instead of the 29 November show that was included on the original release.
In addition, this new album provides the full concert experience, incorporating two tracks, ‘Downstream’ and ‘Child of Vision’, which were not on the previous edition.
With this release, Supertramp not only reaffirms their musical legacy, but also strengthens their connection with fans, bringing their music to new audiences and reminding everyone why they are considered one of the most iconic bands of their era.
