Have you tried the Yamaha EAD10? I understand that can trigger samples. I may need some way to record my kit.
No I haven't BUT I know it's very good. You have a stereo mic and a kick trigger. Plus you can record and you have a click track. I see it very useful for live gigs when there isn't a good sound engineer.
I've seen a few people on Drumeo have it. I'll look into getting one some time.
