Beyond the Boundaries of the Familiar.
Making music is not just about repeating what works. It’s about exploring, taking risks, and failing. Even when I record a simple drum video, it’s not just a showcase—it’s a frontier, where promotion meets discovery.
Just like in composition, even in pop, even in commercial music, experimentation is a necessity. It takes courage to write something wrong, to play something that doesn’t make sense yet. Because it is precisely there, in the sound that escapes the rules, that new paths emerge.
Art is not born from habit. It is born from mistakes, from risk, from the willingness to push one step further.
Well said. Music has to keep evolving or it gets stale. That can be a challenge, but it's the core of art.
I am experimenting with the Yamaha EAD10 that I just got. I could do various things with triggers on that as well as using the effects. The main requirement was just to get decent recordings and it does that well.

It is a great piece or hardware. I was thinking to buy that too. I can use the small Pearl Midtown and make it sound like a John Bonham Ludwig.
Unfortunately the bass drum trigger is not working with my kit and it seems others have issues with it too. I am looking at options, but the triggering was not a priority for me. The unit can do so much and I hope to explore that.
Not good. Triggering a smaLl bass drum would have been be fun.
