Chain Reaction 1500.png

🔥
From the silence
The city's calling
From the dark
Now I can see
From the underground
A fire is burning into me
A chain reaction has started
And a new world will born
By metal and thunder
For the freedom of our soul

🔥

Chain Reaction is the 7th and last song of my album Blinded In Chains.

It's the last chapter of this first part of the story about Harbiter and his rise to spokesman for the uprising. After gathering his Invisibles of the night and taking them to the streets to vent their anger against the powerful ones, he begins to organize a more focused rebellion nucleus.
The clear vision of a common goal lights up the minds, which like many iron needles influenced by a magnetic field, all turn in the same direction, compact and linked to each other.
The combination of all the Invisibles produces a force that is greater than the sum of the individuals and thus a chain reaction is triggered that can no longer be stopped!

Chain reaction is characterized by a clever mix of electronics, darkwave and rock sounds, completed by a guitar solo.
The subdued verse prepares the ground for the explosion that occurs in the chorus. The synth textures leave room for modern metal-style guitars, with a melodic sequence that recalls power metal and sounds epic.

I know that the chorus sung in such a low key is not the best for a proper musical explosion but I wanted to keep the tone low both to stay in the goth style and to leave the highest vocal part at the end and create a crescendo. In fact, following the lyrics, the song has a development that starts from a calm situation and reaches the climax in which the Invisibles realize their power and want to let it out.

Every time I listen to this song I can imagine the scenes in my mind like in a movie. People who realize they have a chance if they unite. Who organize themselves and decide to act. They pour into the streets and start the uprising that will lead them to victory!

You do go low on the chorus. That gives it some power. Sounds like a rallying call to action.

Break those chains!

And that's exactly what I wanted to convey 😎
