Album Cover Art x 3 = Three Tune Tuesday

in Music3 months ago (edited)

There have been many great album covers in the music industries history. ACA is the photography or drawings that appear on the coverings of the media that the music was recorded on. I feel we have slowly lost this as we have gone from the large format of the vinyls down to the smaller 8 track / cassette tape packaging. We had a resurgence with the CD disk covers. But have lost this art form with the digital downloads online.

My #1 fave album art would be the Molly Hatchet cover art

The truth is that I had never thought about it and the truth is that none comes to my mind, except for Shakira and her album Pies Descalzos, since it was my first cassette that I bought with my allowance and my first discovered artist that marked me a lot. Thanks for sharing your opinion, best regards! 💕

Hey @pannavi 🤗

Check out my other comment about the insane amount of money those Molly Hatchet Album Cover Artworks recently sold for. WOW..! Crazy Money. I did not know it was that popular until I did this three tune Tuesday post and stumbled across this info.

Thanks for the comment. 😉

Frank Frazetta's "Dark Kingdom" is most commonly associated with Molly Hatchet's "Flirtin' With Disaster" album cover art. "Dark Kingdom" first served as the cover of Karl Edward Wagner's 1976 novel Dark Crusade. The $6 million 2023 sale price is the highest of the fantasy art genre and Frazetta's catalogue, surpassing his former record-holder, "Egyptian Queen," which fetched $5.4 million at a 2019 auction. Other Frazetta works to command seven-figure sums include "Death Dealer VI" ($1.79 million in 2018), "A Princess of Mars" ($1.2 million in 2020) and "At the Earth's Core" ($1.075 million in 2016).

MOLLY HATCHET - Flirtin' With Disaster Album Artwork Sells For $6 Million US At Heritage Auction

Hey @galenkp did you see what that artists work recently sold for? Makes me wanna throw one of my masterpieces from your #weekend-engagement drawing topics in the auction mix... 😆🤣😂🤣😆😳

Yeah, I think you should, your artwork was one of the highlights of the early days of the #weekend-engagement topics.

Hmm, maybe a drawing theme this week on the topics?

Great Idea. Glad I thought of it. 😉

Here is a trip down memory lane.

Lol...yeah I remember that fucken masterpiece. I believe the Louvre in Paris wanted it but couldn't afford it.

😳 Looks like I missed my calling. But I hold a pretty wheel, keeping it tween the painted lines. I am also good with a coloring book and ctayons. The whole keeping it between the lines thong and all... 🤣

Lol...I have already written the topics for this week but might take some out and add in some drawing ones just for fun. (Not might, will!)
