First Monday after Christmas, and last Monday before the year ends. I don't know about you, but today is dragging on, work is slow, the day is lazy, and I'm wrapping up the year. If you're feelin like this, fear not cause I bring you once again 5 awesome song recommendations for the week. Let's get to it!
1. Let's start with some dream pop from Vansire. I've loved every single song I've heard from this band, but I think this cheery, happy, and soft song is what I need to kick off this last week of 2021 with the best attitude. If you like it, make sure to check out the rest of their stuff.
2. Uplifting, dreamy, unwinding. There is nothing I love more than some delicious Lo-fi. Seriously, if you like lo-fi you're awesome. Yot Club is the lo-fi indie pop project of Mississippi-based artist, Ryan Kaiser. This song, despite it's nostalgic lyrics is sexy, relaxing, and it just..makes me feel things.
3. You know me, I like to add a little latin touch and suggest latino artists. Turn is up for Girl Ultra. What does mexican R&B sound like? This is it. Girl Ultra is a musician based in Mexico City with a soft, velvety voice, smooth lyrics, lush and sensual sound. This girl is crazy talented! Her songs include english and spanish bits, so if you're a fan of Spanglish, like me, this is for you. Check out her other stuff, the more you listen, they better it gets! Actually, I'm pretty sure I'll be suggesting more of her music in the near future <3
4. You KNOW I have to include an amazing male voice in my list. I choose Joel Culpepper this week, talking about his woman. Joel is a London based artist, who probably developed those steel abs from gruntin "huh!" so much in this song. I love the Colors channel for introducing me to awesome artists like him.
5. Annnnnnnnd, last but definitely not least, if you liked the Psytrance from last week's list, get ready for the dirrrty stuff. Loud is the hottest most innovative and ever evolving psytrance act in the scene. This duo from Israel manage to keep things fresh, interesting and different with each album. Hands down, my favorite psytrance act. Fell in love with them back in 2007, when I became a wee little raver, 14 years later they continue to amaze me. Check out this Ozora edit of Small Talk. I'm sure they will show up again in my suggestions in the future.
I hope you enjoy my music selection for this week, hope it makes your week better, or more manageable at least. Have a fan-fucking-tastic end of this year and I look forward to a whole new year of bring my music suggestions to you all. Have a sick ass new year!
