Hello Hive and Music Community !
Despite only having just begun, April has been full of very interesting K-pop releases, and I'm more than ready to share with you some of this week's releases and if they managed to conquer my ears and heart, let's get started!
1) IVE –LOVE DIVE
I have already talked about IVE before, on that occasion with their musical debut "ELEVEN" which although at that time was a song that did not convince me with the passing of weeks and months became one of my favorites (one of those cases where the second impression was much better than the first) and without wanting to make the same mistake of underestimating the musical choice of IVE, for LOVE DIVE I was more than willing to not only analyze the song for what it is, but for what it could become, and fortunately the six girls of IVE did not fail me in any second, I fell in love immediately with the song, not only was it a release that I liked as soon as I heard it, but also I am more than sure that I will not be able to get it out of my mind for the rest of the year.
Repeating a similar pattern to their, definitely, successful debut "Eleven", LOVE DIVE continues with this feminine concept but this time with a more mysterious atmosphere, with a melody that hypnotizes you, and this "Echo" effect throughout the song that gives more impact to the chorus and that in general, complements the captivating atmosphere created by the small details of sound, the concept chosen for the song, and the voices/presences of the members themselves that complement each other very well, so that everything manages to compact in a very pleasant way; being a song that is certainly repetitive and lacks the usual k-pop composition, I think it was a smart choice to make the song itself less than three minutes long (although I have an affection lately for the amount of songs that seem to last less and less) so you can enjoy enough of the melody without getting to feel tedious, making LOVE DIVE feel like a whole experience.

2) BIG BANG –Still Life
BIG BANG is probably one of the most iconic groups in the history of kpop, their impact on the genre and the Korean music industry is not much less than other high profile groups like BTS or EXO, and their unique style managed to captivate and dominate the Asian industry for quite some time, due to various controversies and over the years, their presence became less active, and with how bad the career was looking (thanks to scandals) of some members I was surprised to see this release that -although sudden- I saw coming in a way.
Still life is a clear message not only to their fans, but to the public that once enjoyed their songs, that BIG BANG will always be there, whether they are still active as a group or not, their legacy in k-pop is indisputable and no matter the passing of time, they will be alive as long as k-pop lives, to be honest, BIG BANG is one of the few groups that have managed to release ballads that I actually managed to like (this genre is not usually my cup of tea) but Still life is not a top notch or unique composition for me, the nostalgic mood dominates the melody but not enough to be a stand out song on its own, but it feels like a pretty meaningful release with presence because of the people who sing it, and it's overall, a nice song where the farewell message is the focal point.

3) Eun Bi –Glitch
Eun Bi is not a newbie as an idol, in fact she was the leader of the former project group IZ*ONE, managing to win the hearts of many not only for her leadership, but also for her dancing skills and stage presence, but now as a soloist, we can see a more complete side of her, both for better and for worse (because being a soloist in the kpop scene is not easy with all that comes with the genre), and since her debut and now with her first comeback we can see her experimenting with different musical niches in the search for the ideal style for her.
Glitch is a song with constant changes and cuts in the melody and fusing different genres creating this "futuristic" musical feeling and with the characteristic anti-drop that we hear more and more in kpop, Glitch is, in general (sorry for using this word so much) a composition not only curious but also well structured that makes the "chaotic" factor not feel like a mess, although there is something in the song that doesn't quite convince me, and that's the vocal arrangement in certain parts that felt a bit "forced", it's certainly not an easy song to pull off without the right artist, and although Eun Bi manages to pull it off quite well to a certain extent I felt more than once that she was trying to overpower the melody, which with this kind of musical fusion is not exactly ideal (personally, for this kind of musical fusion, I prefer the artist going along with the melody to create that sub-realistic/ethereal effect).

4) ILY:1 –Love in Bloom
ILY: 1 is the most recent debut of this month, with a somewhat old-fashioned musical style, Love in Bloom stands out for being a song full of charm and cuteness, very similar to what young female groups would opt for back there during 2015-2017, and that today is not at all common since they do not end up being liked by international consumers at all, but still with a melody fun and dynamic enough to be pleasant to listen to and repeat, similar to what happened to me with Glitch, I felt that the vocal arrangement of the song did not quite fit Love in Bloom, I came to feel the voices very forced to sing with a certain tone that perhaps the members could not master or that simply did not do justice to their vocal range, so some parts came to feel very arranged and that did not allow me to flow at all with the cheerful melody.

I can't believe we're still in the fourth month of 2022, and there are still more and more releases to see and hear as the remaining months go by, I'm excited to see what bets my favorite bands will take. Thanks so much for reading! Any advice is more than welcome.
