Three Tune Tuesday Week #193 - Fleetwood Mac's Rumours [ENG/ESP]
A few days ago, last Tuesday, February 4, was the 48th anniversary of the release of the eleventh studio album by the British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac, entitled Rumours, considered not only the best work of the band, but also one of the best albums of the 70's, as well as of the history of music in general.
With worldwide sales of more than 45 million units, this album reached the top of the charts in several countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom, as well as Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the Netherlands.
The band also triumphed in the "Album of the Year" category at the 20th Grammy Awards held in early 1978.
At that time, the various members of Fleetwood Mac were going through great personal conflicts, marked by betrayals, infidelities and romantic breakups, which is reflected in one way or another in the lyrics of the 11 songs included in the album.
Personally, Rumours was one of the first albums in my incipient record collection during my adolescence, and in September 1982, Fleetwood Mac was the first band I had the opportunity to see in concert, of which, by the way, I still have the ticket.
Now, after this long introduction, in which I shamelessly confess my admiration for Fleetwood Mac, I invite you to relax and enjoy the musical selection that I share today on this platform.
Unos días atrás, el pasado Martes 4 de Febrero, se cumplieron 48 años del lanzamiento del decimoprimer álbum de estudio de la banda de rock británico-estadounidense, Fleetwood Mac, titulado Rumours, considerado, no solo el mejor trabajo de la agrupación, sinó también uno de los mejores álbumes de la década de los 70, así como también de la historia de la música en general.
Con ventas a nivel mundial superiores a las 45 millones de unidades, este álbum logró alcanzar la primera posición en las listas de preferencias de diversos países, entre los cuales están incluidos Estados Unidos y el Reino Unido, además de Australia, Canadá, Nueva Zelanda y los Países Bajos.
La banda también triunfó en la categoría de "Album del Año" en la vigésima edición de los Premios Grammy, realizada a principios del año 1978.
En aquel momento, los diversos integrantes de Fleetwood Mac estaban atravesando grandes conflictos personales, marcados por traiciones, infidelidades y rupturas sentimentales, lo que se refleja de una u otra manera en las letras de las 11 canciones incluidas en el álbum.
En lo personal, Rumours fué uno de los primeros álbumes en mi incipiente colección discográfica durante mi adolescencia, además, en Septiembre de 1982, Fleetwood Mac fué la primera banda a la que tuve la oportunidad de ver en un concierto, del cual por cierto, aún conservo el ticket de entrada.
Ahora, luego de esta larga introducción, en la que confieso sin mayor pudor mi admiración por Fleetwood Mac, los invito a relajarse y disfrutar de la selección musical que hoy comparto por esta plataforma.

Dreams
This song was written by vocalist Stevie Nicks, and released as the second single from the album Rumours in March 1977 in the United States and in June of the same year in the United Kingdom, by Warner Bros. Records on both occasions.
Dreams is one of the band's most recognized songs, and reached outstanding positions in the European charts, such is the case of the United Kingdom where it reached the 24th position in the UK Singles Chart, while in the United States it reached the first place in the Billboard Hot 100, being the only single of the group to reach this position during their extensive musical career of more than half a century, which began in London in 1967.
Este tema fue escrito por la vocalista Stevie Nicks, y lanzado al mercado como el segundo sencillo del álbum Rumours en marzo de 1977 para los Estados Unidos y en junio del mismo año en el Reino Unido, por Warner Bros. Records en ambas ocasiones.
Dreams es uno de los temas más reconocidos de la banda, y alcanzó posiciones sobresalientes en las listas discográficas europeas, tal es el caso del Reino Unido donde logró el puesto número 24 en la UK Singles Chart, mientras en los Estados Unidos obtuvo el primer lugar en la lista Billboard Hot 100, siendo el único sencillo de la agrupación en alcanzar esta posición durante su extensa trayectoria musical de más de medio siglo, iniciada en Londres en 1967.

Go Your Own Way was written by guitarist and vocalist Lindsey Buckingham in 1976 and released as the first single from the album in December of the same year, through Warner Bros. Records.
It reached #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States, while in the UK it reached #38 on the UK Singles Chart. In 2011 it was re-released again as a single, and reached number 62 on the latter chart.
The lyrics describe the stormy and complicated separation that Buckingham experienced at the time, from his girlfriend and bandmate, Stevie Nicks.
Go Your Own Way fue compuesta por el guitarrista y vocalista Lindsey Buckingham en 1976 y lanzado como el primer sencillo del álbum en Diciembre del mismo año, a través de Warner Bros. Records.
Alcanzó el puesto número 10 en la lista Billboard Hot 100 de los Estados Unidos, mientras que en el Reino Unido alcanzó la posición 38 en los UK Singles Chart. En el año 2011 se volvió a relanzar como sencillo, alcanzando la posición número 62 en esta última lista.
La letra describe la tormentosa y complicada separación que experimentó Buckingham en aquel momento, de su novia y compañera en la banda, Stevie Nicks.

The Chain
The Chain is the only song on the album credited jointly to all 5 band members. Created from the combination of previously discarded material, including solo works by Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, and the recently deceased keyboardist and vocalist Christine McVie.
Following the commercial and critical success of Rumours, the track has become a staple of the band's live shows, often used as the opening song.
The Chain es la única canción del álbum cuya autoría fue acreditada en conjunto a los 5 miembros de la banda. Creada de la combinación de materiales previamente desechados, incluyendo trabajos en solitario de Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, y de la tecladista y vocalista, recientemente fallecida, Christine McVie.
