Today I want to share with you my latest music track, its called "Interdimensional" and it is inspired by the deep states of meditation of the mind.
I was reflecting about the current times we live in and the high level of over stimulation in our day to day life and I feel like sometimes we need to calm our minds to actually think, sometimes I feel like we are doing everything automatic and as fast and effective as we possibly can, but I think thats not the way to live because by doing that we are missing the joy of living in the present moment.
A few months ago, I started doing soundtrack music and that was a major shift on my production, because it was a more introspective style, I forced my self to take my time on each track and really focus more on the feeling rather that the technical aspects of making music.
That way of producing has influenced also into my lifestyle, I even made changes on my life like eating more healthy and exersicing more frequently. So I realized that making music is not just art perse , its actually a way of life because I noticed that it has strengthen my faith and also my spirituality over all.
Because it is actually an extension of your whole being, music becomes a part of yourself once you take that step to not just make music but BE MUSIC! (I wrote a post about that thanking music and also you that hears it because it changed my life for the better and I will never forget that nor will I ever taking it for granted)
Making this type of genre has also made me less perfectionist and just go with the flow, and make music I feel.
Starting making soundtrack music this year, was a game changer for me, because it also has inspired me to make visuals that I usually share on my inleo account, Im so into it that I share digital art almost everyday, so basically everything started with music really.
Techincal specs of the track
Well, technically this track was made as usual on my favorite digital audio workstation called FL Studio, and I used the plugin called Sytrus and the sound I used for this particular track is called "Alone in the dark" and I used the C- Scale notes, the effect of this sound I used was Fruity reberv 2, and I only changed the size f the room because I was thinking on adding more effect but not in the live session but in the post production with other software.
SO after I recorded the track, it was time for post production, and I use Audacity software for this because it has a lot of effects that FL doesnt like for example, an Echo and other deep Reverb effects.
And another really cool effect that give the track an special sauce its the "PaulStretch" tool designed to drastically extend the duration of the track without altering its pitch, thats important for me because I played the notes live and they are in the C scale that it sounds deep and at the same time emotional, not dramatic at all so this notes are calming for the mind, and that the point of the whole track.
Its the second time I use in a track the Paulstretch tool, this tool I found that it allows you to create ethereal, ambient, and highly stretched sound textures and it’s perfect for ambient music and experimental sound design.
So the original track played live was 1 minute and 45 seconds but with this tool, its 17 minutes!
It made the track more etheral than the original.
And I noticed that besides that it gives the track a more dreamlike, spacey, or sci-fi vibe. I will look more into this effect in next projects because Im just getting started into the atmospheric, cinematic and prolonged ambient music for meditation background music.
ARTWORK
For this artwork I used a photography of various items randomly just to get colors and textures, after that I used the Mirror lab app on my phone and I started adding more effects and filters until I got some interesting shapes that were like futuristic, it goes well with the aesthetics of the track because its like a portal to a cybernetic dimension and the key is this geometric form in the center.
This is the original track without the Paulstretch effect:
And I uploaded to my distrokid page the 17 minute long track, so if you want to hear a really relaxing track here it is:
As always this tracks are free to use for your video projects or whatever you want, so you can download the track on High Quality WAV file here:
Thank you for visiting the blog, I hope you like this music, more comign soon with different textures and even more experimental new sounds.
I will put out more cinematic soundtrack music in the coming weeks, so stay tuned, maybe even an whole EP called "Ophanim"
Thats all for today! Until next time with more music and more art!
