I'm sorry to hear about your dad's passing, my condolences to you and your family.
What a lovely way to remember your father. I'm not the country-kind of person, but funny enough, I recently started to like more and more. But those first songs were OK to listen to. The third one was a little more like bluegrass, I believe? I liked The Well, that was an interesting listen.
Much love to you xxx

I don't like country country, but Americana / guitary stuff I do now, mainly coz of Dad of course. He had such an open mind with music. In the time I was living with him before he died we even sat and listened to The Skatalites, the influential ska band from 60s Jamaica. The Well is awesome. Smog is kinda more new alt folk I guess. Their 90s album Knock Knock is one of my faves.
I LOVE the Skatalites! There was a time when I was into ska quite a bit. We had a really good Dutch ska band, but they quit a while ago. Saw them live and was hooked.
Yeah, I had the same with country, but started listening to Johnny Cash after my dad passed away, because he loved him so much. Also started listening to opera and classical music because of him. I was actually listening to some classical music with my 16-year old yesterday, because she has a friend in the US who suggested some pieces. So now she's interested haha. I'd have to listen to Smog a little more. Somehow it reminds me of Les Claypool of Primus, but it's nothing alike. Claypool being brilliant in his own crazy twisted way haha. Anyway, it's nice to see music I've never heard of. It's nice to find new gems that way. Your dad had good taste!
