That was a great overview of Therion and after listening to a few of their songs, I was also drawn more to The Rise of Sodom and Gomorrah with its great symphonic sound. However I also enjoyed Birth of Venus Illegitima quite a bit too. Some of their other sounds were hit and miss for me, but it was interesting to see how their sound changed over the years and the different quality of their video productions. I would say I quite like Symphonic Metal and like Nightwish too.
I have picked this post on behalf of the @OurPick project which will be highlighted in the next post!
Yes, why not? that is a good cup of tea to drink. Decent art.
When, thru the years, they collect together so many folks obsessed with opera and different cool old stuff - and make together a music - the results cannot come out dull and unintresting... (but they may become dull at some point ... when this production turns into conveyor). All in all - good band that should not be missed. (I would love to see your fave selection for Nightwish. Maybe, one other day?..)
Just realised I was mixing up Nightwish with another band (The lead singer looks similar to Amelia Brightman= :) . I would have to check what my fav Nightwish tune was, I do like a few of them but dont listen too often. But I love thisthis Rammstein cover which is a similar genre:
Do you have a favorite?
Oh! 'Angel' is such a great track (I love original version, and its video, a lot!)
The answer is easy, I do not need to think even second or take suffer from choosing: The Phantom of the Opera. 2ndly goes 'Scaretale'.
I love the original too :)
Great Nightwish choices, the ending to Phantom of the Opera is pretty epic, her voice and reaching those tones is amazing.
