Hiking & DnB

Just like that, the long Easter weekend break has gone but over the course of it, I managed to squeeze in a few hikes as the walking group doubled up with the nice weather.

In one of the walks though, I was speaking with one of the other protagonists who wanted to know a little bit more about the UK 3 Peaks Challenge, which is the inspiration behind today's tune to share with you.

The UK 3 Peaks Challenge involves hiking up and down the tallest 3 mountains (they are basically, tall hills) in the UK in a 24 hour time period.

You start off at Ben Nevis in Scotland, which is about 4,400 feet high, then make your way down to Scafell Pike in England, the shortest of the 3 peaks, and then end up in Mount Snowdon in Wales.

I tried the challenge twice, failed at the first attempt with a twisted ankle but came back strong the second time around and completed it all in 23 hours 35 minutes.

It was definitely the toughest challenge I've done, more so than the marathons because you have to stay awake for 24 hours when your body just wants to sleep before you get to Snowdonia!

However, when you do complete it, there is a huge sense of relief and elation that you made it - if you are still standing! The minibus on the way back home was very quiet... and sleepy!

So this tune is a celebration of completing the 3 Peaks challenge back in 2014 with the cover art being one I took of Mount Snowdon, it's a beautiful place for sure!

So on the one hand I get the fun some people get out of challenges like that but I still personally think that it's a great way to ruin some nice hikes XD

Track definitely sounds like it could be celebratory :)

Haha, thanks a lot! That's why you go hiking at these places again when there isn't a challenge so you get to enjoy it twice :D

Still yet to do it. Just never planned it. Would love to. Banging tune feel the vibe there 🙌🏼

Thanks a lot mate! It's a tough challenge that requires lots of planning but is one of the most beautiful challenges to do (and hope for good weather too)!
