The Music Industry is broken
Not a surprise for many of us who have not been able to gig, earn pennies on streaming platforms and video sites and are able to sell a few t-shirts and mugs.
Yet many musicians are still writing amazing music and want to record their tracks in the studio.
Coming together as a community
Recording Box is constantly visited by musicians, painters, writers, performers, sculptors, and photographers. So we decided to work together and put our art out into the Metaverse.
I present to you, the first of the Devouring Self series. An image captured by the lens and talent of photographer Alfonso "Pochi" Asturias: https://www.alfonsoasturias.com/

Pochi has agreed to collaborate with Recording Box and Oricalkos in launching this NFT series on @nftshowroom to finance the recording of the album.
The series of images was commissioned by the band as "CD booklet art". But who makes CDs anymore???
The band's lead-guitar and vocalist @bexe is right here on HIVE.

As you can see, we launched a special edition of the band's single Pandemia (Pandemic) earlier this year.
The theme seemed fitting :)
Devouring Self - D
The concept that the series intends to convey is the self-destruction of human-kind. Our disregard for our planet and other forms of life on it and the obsession with our consumerism are the root cause of our own suffering and ultimately our demise.
We are the predator and prey;
We are the pandemic.
The images are intended to be shocking and inspired in the way spiders eat their prey via extra-oral digestion, a process in which they vomit digestive enzymes onto their prey to later drink them.
The "D" on the first piece represents the first string of the guitar which uses standard D tuning. The other pieces will be named in accordance to D standard tuning:
We will be dropping the piece soon. Stay tuned.
staying tuned!!!
