Where to go after last week? I, like others, have plenty of songs to share in for #threesongtuesday, as inspired by @ablaze. I'll be the first to admit; I grew up on oldies FM radio and vinyls, so I probably don't keep up too much with as much modern music as I like. That's ok, though, as I can now find others posting newer music to this thread to discover. In the meantime, I'm going back in time on this one again...
13th Floor Elevators - You're Gonna Miss Me

Last week I started with Texas rock legend Buddy Holly; this week I'm keeping it Texas, and going with Roky and the 13th Floor Elevators. I think I knew about this before High Fidelity, but maybe not. I do now I first came into possession of this fantastic song courtesy of a CD of the film's soundtrack. Roky (and his life) are a rabbit hole in and of itself; for those curious, definitely take a look. This song represents the best of acid / garage rock from that time period. You can never go wrong with the song when you are standing at a Touch Tunes at your local watering hole...
The Blue Rondos - Little Baby

I went through a bit of a Joe Meek phase a few years back when I heard his The Bublight; I'll save that track for later. Subsequent to my I Hear a New World discovery, I bought a best of CD set. On it, I found this gem. You can't find much about this group online, but they sound very Roy Orbison/Holly. Plus it has the rocking Farfisa on the background...I love that sound. Not bad for a 1964 London group!
Olivia Tremor Control - Beneath the Climb

Last but not least was this little gem I found years ago when I bought the above CD at Best Buy. The only reason I thought of it was because of that intro with the electric milk jug on You're Gonna Miss Me. Right around the 45 second mark, you can hear that little 13th Floor influence in the background. It always stood out to me when I played this one as something that Roky would have appreciated...hey, I at least appreciated the reference.
That's it for this week. Let me know what you think, or what you already knew, or what doesn't sound good to you. More to come next week as I scour the brain's databases for those random songs I enjoyed so many times before. And, of course, please check out @ablaze's post if interested in joining the fun.
Hello @sagesigma 🤗 I'm so glad to find you on #ttt! I found the tunes you shared really impredictable! That's refreshing from me as I tend to obcess a bit song by song. So I usually play a million times the ones I like and close a bit on new tune.
Three Tune Tuesday by @ablaze as been really a great way to find new songs and artist as well as just enjoy talking about and listening to music, figuring out what you like and what you don't 😊
I specially liked the impredictability of The Blue Rondos - Little Baby. At leat how I felt it, I thought it would be a calm and soft music, and then got cheerful and uplifting, stops a bit there in the middle to going down again and then gets back to happy and cheers. Really cool and got me a bit confused there in a good way hehe 🙃
I hope to see you around on Tuesdays for more #ttt and talking about music! See ya!

I know...I was kind of late bloomer with Meek's work, and then one day it just clicked for me. Good stuff. Glad to confuse you!
Looking forward to seeing more stuff from you and the #TTT back community too! I have plenty buried in the brain, so I'm looking forward to sharing more as well
Awesome! See you around next week 😎
Nice tunes man and all new ones for me too, which I'm delighted about. These are all going straight onto my Spotify playlist 👍
I'm going listen to some 13th Floor Elevators albums, I really like their sound. What album would you recommend?
I always wanted their first album back in the day but could never track it down. I found a used best of once, but that sort of ok as it had a lot of poor live tracks. I think the one to go with is their first one, The Psychedelic Sounds... Glad you liked them!

Nice to find a post with the #garagerock tag that isn't by me! We need more Garage Rock on the Hive.
You're Gonna Miss Me - what can I say, its a Garage Rock classic! Have you heard the original by The Spades? Roky on vocals with different band members, but about a year earlier. Less aggressive guitar and no jug.
The other 2 tunes are new to me. Yes the first is very Orbisonian; is that a word?
I'm going to dig more into
as I like their sound. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Olivia_Tremor_Control
If you think about it, please tag me if you use the #garagerock tag again. I have followed you so hopefully I'll see it but just to be sure. Wouldn't wanna miss any of the cool stuff you post!
