Buenas noches gente, hoy continuamos con el seguimiento de las canciones de The Pains of Growing, álbum de la cantante y escritora canadiense Alessia Cara, hoy ya llegamos a la mitad del álbum y tenemos tres canciones bastante buenas y suaves, disfrútenlo.

Esta canción en donde también protagoniza la guitarra, es una de las canciones más suaves del álbum, que a mí personalmente me encantan este tipo de canciones. En palabras de Alessia esta canción es sobre cómo ha estado moviéndose por todo el mundo debido a los tours o a su trabajo sin tener un lugar fijo en donde descansar por mucho tiempo, ahí es donde ella aprendió a que cualquier lugar podría sentirse como un hogar. En cuanto a como yo tomo esta canción, habla mucho de la soledad y la nostalgia, cuando comienza la vida adulta normalmente te independizas y no siempre estarás acompañado y tienes que arreglártelas por tu propia cuenta, para mi cuando dice “Home is wherever I live” o “Hogar es donde sea que viva” se refiere a que sin importar donde estés, mientras estés tú, con tus pensamientos y en paz contigo mismo, eso puede ser considerado hogar. Adoro como en los primeros coros de la canción dice que se está enseñando a si misma que el hogar es donde sea que viva, seguido de unos suspiros tranquilizantes, y ya en el último coro cambia a que de alguna forma ya aprendió a amar el hecho de que el hogar es donde sea que viva, además de esto una parte en específico, que es mi favorita, es donde hace referencia a la serie Friends, diciendo “I hear the laughter from the TV static, Rachel talks to Phoebe about the cat that smells” que en español sería “Escucho las risas de la televisión, Rachel le habla a Phoebe sobre el gato oloroso”
In this song the guitar is the star too, is one of the softer songs of the album and personally I looove this kind of songs. In words of Alessia herself, this song is about how she has been moving around the world because of the tours or her work without having a specific place to rest for a long time, that’s where she learned that any place could feel like home. As for how I take the song, it speaks so much about loneliness and nostalgia, when you start your adulthood, you usually become independent and not always you will be with someone, so you have to do things by yourself, for me, when she says “Home is wherever I live” it means that no matter where you are, while you are there, with your emotions and in peace with yourself, so that place can be a home. I love how in the firsts chorus of the song says that she is learning how home is wherever she lives, followed by some cute whispers, and finally in the final chorus it changes to somehow she already learned to love that home is wherever she lives, there are one specific part, that I love, it’s where she make a reference to the series Friends, saying “I hear the laughter from the TV static, Rachel talks to Phoebe about the cat that smells”

Y ya llegando a la mitad tenemos All We Know, una canción en donde tiene poderosos vocales de la cantante y una letra con bastante significado, que, aunque puede que para algunos el coro suene muy repetitiva, sigue siendo muy buena. Aquí en esta canción es donde nos damos cuenta que realmente no sabemos nada, comparando esto a como de pequeños solíamos creer en Santa Claus, superhéroes y muchas otras cosas que cuando crecimos perdieron su significado y nos damos cuenta que jamás existieron, entonces ¿Y si así es con aún más cosas? ¿Y si todo es una mentira? ¡No lo sabemos! Es por eso que el coro dice que esto se repite una y otra y otra vez, porque cosas que podemos creer saber en realidad terminamos estando equivocados y es por eso que todo lo que sabemos es que en realidad no sabemos nada y nada es lo que parece, que mundo tan raro en el que vivimos. Creo que esta canción también hace una pequeña referencia a los beatles, pero no estoy muy seguro de eso así que no quiero confirmar nada. “Heroes fall like dominoes, we try to help it but we won’t, all we know is that we don’t”.
And already reaching the middle of the album, we have All We Know, a song that has powerful vocals from the singer and a lyric with so much meaning, although maybe for some people the chorus can sound annoying, still being very cool. Here in this song is when we are realizing that actually we don’t know anything, comparing this to when we were young and we used to believe in saint nick, super heroes and many others things that never existed, so what if this happened to other things too? What if everything is a lie? We don’t know! That’s why the chorus says that this is in repeat over and over and over, because the things that we can think we know actually end up being wrong and that’s why that all we know is that we don’t know anything and nothing is what it seems, what a strange world we’re living. Also, I think this song makes a reference to the beatles, but I’m not really sure about this so I don’t want to confirm anything. “Heroes fall like dominoes, we try to help it but we won’t, all we know is that we don’t”.

A Little More es una canción corta y linda junto a la melodía relajante de la guitarra que acompaña a la canción. En esta canción se habla de cuando estamos perdidamente enamorados de alguien, pero al mismo tiempo estamos inseguros, sin saber si aquella persona también nos quiere lo suficiente por lo que estamos apenados de pedirle un poco más de cariño o atención de su parte. Yo muchas veces he tenido este sentimiento debido a que soy una persona demasiado insegura, y esto es algo que invade por dentro y te hace dudar de cada pequeña acción que hace la otra persona o que tu mismo haces, te preguntas si eres suficiente para aquella persona o si en cualquier momento se aburrirá de ti y se irá. Algo que hay que aprender es que hay diferentes tipos lenguajes del amor, así que, si una persona no te da amor de la misma manera que tu se la das, no necesariamente significa que no te ama. “I’m sorry that i’ve been emotions galore, Am I crazy for wantin’ a little bit more? A little more of you” traducido sería “Lamento haber tenido emociones en abundancia, ¿Estoy loca por querer un poco más? Un poco más de ti”
A Little More is a short and cute song with the relaxing melody of the guitar. This song talks about when we are crazy in love with someone, but at the same time we are insecure about it, without knowing if that person loves us enough, so we are ashamed to ask a little more affection or attention from him. I’ve been in this situation multiple times, feeling this thing because I’m a very insecure person, and this is something that invades us inside and makes you doubt every single action the other person did or even yourself did, you ask to yourself if you are enough or if at any time he will get bored of you and then he goes. Something we need to learn is that there are different types of love languges, so, if someone doesn’t love you in the same way that you love him/her, it doesn’t mean that he/she doesn’t loves you. “I’m sorry that I’ve been emotions galore, Am I crazy for wantin’ a little bit more? A little more of you”
