Siempre que vengo a escribirles estoy emocionado, esta vez no es la excepción ya que me puse a pensar y recordé lo bien que lo pasé escribiendo sobre The Pains Of Growing, y ya que ya tengo unos cuantos posts sobre música en mi blog y que la música es algo fundamental en mi vida quise comenzar a hacer “reseñas” entre muchas comillas de álbumes a los cuales les tengo mucho aprecio o vendrían siendo parte de mis favoritos.

Whenever I come to write to you I'm always excited, this time is not the exception because I thought and remembered how much fun I had writing about The Pains Of Growing, and since I already have a few posts about music on my blog and the fact that music is something fundamental in my life I wanted to start doing "reviews" between many quotation marks of albums to which I have a lot of appreciation or would be part of my favorites.
Para contarles un poco de como quiero hacer esto, para no hacerlo tan extenso ni dividirlos en muchas partes como hice con The Pains Of Growing voy a hablar de una manera más general de él álbum, sin entrar en mucho detalle sobre cada una de las canciones, si lo llego a hacer vendría siendo de mis favoritas o las que siento que necesitan más reconocimiento, haré unas especies de categorías de mi canción favorita, canción menos favorita y así. Hablaré sobre el concepto del álbum en general, ciertas anotaciones, cosas que me llamaron la atención, conceptos, ahí veré como hago para que les de curiosidad de escuchar el álbum (En caso de que no lo hayan hecho) o que les llame la atención, obviamente aclaro que todo será desde mi punto de vista, y quiero decirles que no soy muy inteligente que digamos para entender las cosas jakhdjsa así que lo haré lo mejor que pueda.

El álbum del cual hablaré hoy es uno que cuando salió me gustó bastante, no lo voy a negar, pero no le tomé tanta relevancia como otros y quedó un poco en el olvido para mi ¡Grave error de mi parte! Estoy hablando del álbum “When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go?” De la cantante estadounidense Billie Eilish, siendo este su álbum debut que sacó luego de su EP “Don’t Smile At Me”
The album I'm going to talk about today is one that when it came out I liked it a lot, I won't deny it, but I didn't take it as much relevance as others albums and it was a bit forgotten for me, a big mistake! I'm talking about the album "When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go?" From the American singer Billie Eilish, being this her debut album that she released after her EP "Don't Smile At Me".

Compuesto y producido únicamente por Billie y su hermano Finneas O’ Connel salió el 29 de marzo de 2019, este álbum contó con unos cuantos sencillos, pero el más destacable y que seguramente todos han escuchado es “Bad Guy” que se volvió bastante popular mundialmente. Desde un tiempo atrás Billie comenzaba a hacerse popular en el público general, lo cual fue muy favorecedor debido a que estaba planeando la salida de su álbum debut, que fue un éxito total, Billie merece todo el éxito que ha tenido durante toda su carrera y todo lo que se viene, es bastante joven y tiene mucho por explorar.
Produced only by Billie and her brother Finneas O' Connel this album came out on March 29, 2019, this album featured a few singles, but the most notable and one that everyone has surely heard is "Bad Guy" which became quite popular worldwide. Since a while back Billie was starting to become popular in the general public, which was very flattering due to the fact that she was planning the release of her debut album, which was a total success, Billie deserves all the success she has had throughout her career and all that is to come, she is quite young and has a lot to explore.

El álbum tiene un concepto general el cual es un poco oscuro o tétrico, se puede ver en la portada del álbum y en los videos musicales de los sencillos como Bury a Friend o el mismo Bad Guy, algo que también cumple con su producción y sonidos, por ejemplo, la canción Xanny. Lo que más habla y que me llama la atención es sobre un amor no correspondido o fallido, si bien no todo el álbum habla sobre amor ya que tiene otros temas interesantes, las que lo son todas terminan en un amor que terminó en fracaso, llevando inseguridades, falta de comunicación y atención por las dos partes, depresión y decepciones en esta “relación” o atracción amorosa. Algo que amo de este álbum es que, si bien su mayoría son canciones un poco lentas, acústicas o para llorar, como yo les digo jhdkjaskd también tiene su parte movida y encaja bien de esta manera, mientras normalmente la mayoría de álbumes tienen más canciones movidas que lentas siento que acá es al contrario, lo que le da ese toque más personal.
The album has a general concept which is a bit dark or gloomy, you can see it in the album cover and in the music videos of the singles like Bury a Friend or Bad Guy itself, something that also match with that it's the production and sounds, for example, the song Xanny. What is most talked about and what catches my attention in this album is about an unrequited or failed love, although not all the album talks about love as it has other interesting topics, the ones that are all end in a love that ended in failure, leading to insecurities, lack of communication and attention from both parties, depression and disappointments in this "relationship" or love attraction. Something I love about this album is that, although most of the songs are a bit slow, acoustic or songs that would make you cry, as I call them ajskhdj also has its moving part and fits well in this way, while normally most albums have more moving songs than slow songs I feel that here it is the opposite, which gives it that more personal touch.

Más allá del amor, el cual volveré a tocar luego, este álbum habló de un tema que me gustó bastante como se habló, en la canción Xanny se habla de las personas que consumen cigarrillos o “drogas” van acabando su vida poco a poco, y aquí se habla de un punto de vista en donde la gente a su alrededor ven cómo se van desgastando y también molestan a otros gracias a esto, yo no fumo, y tampoco creo hacerlo, pero hay veces que los fumadores se vuelven tan insoportables que por siento que esta canción se me hace perfecta, además de que se están matando a ellos mismos la mayoría hace que los demás se traguen su humo, una obra maestra. Otra canción que no toca el tema del amor es Bury a Friend, esta habla sobre las parálisis del sueño y pesadillas, en esta canción está la conversación que tiene Billie con el monstruo de sus parálisis del sueño o el monstruo que está bajo su cama, acá es donde se hace la importante pregunta que lleva por título el álbum “¿Cuándo todos dormimos a dónde vamos?”.

Ahora sí, volviendo al amor, tenemos la canción llamada “I love you” personalmente mi favorita del álbum (O al menos en el top 3) en esta canción se retrata el temor que se siente cuando estamos enamorados, el miedo a perder a la otra persona y todos esos sentimientos encontrados que sentimos, acompañado de un instrumental acústico que se siente melancólico, relajante, triste, la cereza del pastel es al final de la canción cuando solo se escuchan los… ¿Suspiros? De Billie y su hermano, la canción perfecta si me lo preguntan. Nombro esta canción porque buscando por ahí encontré una teoría en donde esta y “Listen before I go” que es la canción que viene antes de esta cuentan una historia. Listen before I go es una canción que es como una carta de despedida de alguien que está a punto de suicidarse y está diciendo sus últimas palabras, otra canción bastante triste y que encuentro que es una JOYA total en cuanto a letra y composición, les dejaré el enlace a la teoría por si quieren verla, se me hizo interesante.
Beyond love, which I will come back to talk about it, this album talked about a topic that I quite liked the way it was talked about, in the song Xanny it talks about people who use cigarettes or "drugs" are ending their lives slowly, and here it talks about a point of view where the people around them see how they are wearing themselves out and also bother others thanks to this, I don't smoke, and I don't think I ever will, but there are times when smokers become so unbearable that I feel this song is perfect for me, besides killing themselves most of them make others swallow their smoke, a masterpiece. Another song that doesn't talks about love is Bury a Friend, this one talks about sleep paralysis and nightmares, in this song there's the conversation Billie has with the monster of her sleep paralysis or the monster that is under her bed, here is where the important question that is the title of the album "When we all sleep where do we go?" is asked.

Now, back to love, we have the song called "I love you" personally my favorite of the album (Or at least in the top 3) in this song portrays the fear that we feel when we are in love, the fear of losing the other person and all those mixed feelings we feel, accompanied by an acoustic instrumental that feels melancholic, relaxing, sad, the icing on the cake is at the end of the song when you only hear the... Sighs? Of Billie and her brother, the perfect song if you ask me. I mention this song because searching around I found a theory where this song and "Listen before I go" which is the song that comes before this song tell a story. Listen before I go is a song that is like a farewell letter from someone who is about to commit suicide and is saying his last words, another quite sad song and that I find to be a total GEM in terms of lyrics and composition, I will leave you the link to the theory in case you want to see it, I found it interesting.

Lo que más aplaudo de todo, pero absolutamente todo el álbum es la producción, los instrumentales y las transiciones que hay entre canciones (Como entre Bury a friend e Ilomilo) son fascinantes, me dejan con la boca abierta, como usan los bajos en varias canciones como Xanny, Listen before I go o Bury a Friend me da escalofríos, los sonidos de ambulancia en Listen before I go, la manera que utilizan las voces de fondo para darle intensidad a la canción como en When the party’s over, Billie vocalizando junto a Finneas, y sin hablar de la voz de Billie en general que le da el toque final a todas las canciones, en cualquier parte puedes escuchar una canción de ella, reconocerla y decir “Esta es Billie Eilish”, todo el álbum tiene un sonido que funciona bien junto y es perfecto para escucharlo con los audífonos en un momento de paz y tranquilidad con un sonido calmado y letras profundas, hermosas que cualquiera podría sentirse identificado con ellas.
What I applaud most of all, but absolutely all the album is the production, the instrumentals and the transitions between songs (like between Bury a friend and Ilomilo) are fascinating, they leave me with my mouth open, the way they use the bass in several songs like Xanny, Listen before I go or Bury a Friend gives me chills, the ambulance sounds in Listen before I go, the way they use the background vocals to give intensity to the song like in When the party's over, Billie vocalizing along with Finneas, and not to mention Billie's voice in general that gives the final touch to all the songs, you can listen to a song of hers anywhere, recognize it and say "This is Billie Eilish", the whole album has a sound that works well together and is perfect to listen to with headphones in a moment of peace and quiet with a calm sound and deep, beautiful lyrics that anyone could feel identified with.

Otra cosa, la última canción del álbum se llama “Goodbye” y es una recopilación de frases de las canciones pertenecientes al álbum en retroceso, por ejemplo, primero I love you, luego Listen before I go, ilomilo y así. Cosa que me parece bastante ingeniosa dando una recapitulación a todo justo antes de decirnos adiós.
Another thing, the last song of the album is called "Goodbye" and it is a compilation of phrases from the songs belonging to the album backwards, for example, first I love you, then Listen before I go, ilomilo and so on. Thing that I find quite ingenious giving a recapitulation to everything just before saying goodbye.
