La vida de un artista es como una montaña rusa: subidas lentas y bajadas estrepitosas. Nunca entenderé la complejidad del universo, pero busco darle un significado que al menos me haga entender que todo pasa por algo, sea bueno o sea malo. Me he refugiado tanto en la música que ahora la considero como un salvavidas. No sé si a ti te pasa, pero cuando me coloco los auriculares y reproduzco una playlist aleatoria, casi de inmediato surge una conexión que me sumerge en un estado de imaginación y reflexión continua.
En estos días he estado internalizando muchas cosas, y no mentiré que el miedo pasa por mi cabeza porque vale, ¿a quién no le aterra tomar un camino nuevo y fracasar? No obstante, hay una canción que, más que ayudar, me ayuda a comprender ese estado en el que me encuentro. Se trata de Speed of Sound, de Coldplay.
The life of an artist is like a roller coaster: slow rises and crashing falls. I will never understand the complexity of the universe, but I try to give it a meaning that at least makes me understand that everything happens for a reason, good or bad. I have taken refuge in music so much that I now consider it a lifeline. I don't know if it happens to you, but when I put on my headphones and play a random playlist, almost immediately a connection arises that immerses me in a state of imagination and continuous reflection.
I've been internalizing a lot of things these days, and I won't lie that fear runs through my head because okay, who isn't terrified of taking a new path and failing? However, there is a song that, more than helping, helps me to understand this state in which I find myself. It is Speed of Sound by Coldplay.

Esta era una de las canciones de Coldplay que menos oía, pues en mi lista de piezas favoritas siempre reinaba Yellow, Fix You, A Head Full Of Dreams… Speed of Sound no debía llegar en ese momento, y lo digo con resaltando la predestinación (al menos esporádica) que nos lleva a oír o ver alguna cosa en el momento adecuado. Y es que en un momento donde más siento incertidumbre, la canción de esta banda me ha ayudado a replantear los pensamientos más dispersos sobre lo que debo decidir por mi propio bienestar, y suena curioso porque ya me he enfrentado a esto antes, aunque admito que las cosas son bastante diferentes ahora.
Cuando escuché Speed of Sound por primera vez Las notas del piano me dijeron: “hey, vamos a reflexionar un poco”. Sentí una conexión con la lírica de inmediato, pues una sensación nostálgica hiló mis huesos durante más de cuatro minutos de duración. Me entregué de inmediato a una letra de múltiples interpretaciones, al menos en el plano abstracto de una vida en el centro de una red de telarañas.
Supe que no estaba solo en mis miedos de tomar caminos nuevos, y a la vez la propia canción me ayudó a entender que la incertidumbre es parte del proceso, y que tarde o temprano se esfuma.
This was one of the Coldplay songs that I heard less, because in my list of favorite pieces always reigned Yellow, Fix You, and A Head Full Of Dreams ... Speed of Sound should not have come at that time, and I say this with highlighting the predestination (at least sporadic) that leads us to hear or see something at the right time. And it is at a time when I feel most uncertain, the song of this band has helped me to rethink the most scattered thoughts about what I should decide for my well-being, and it sounds funny because I have faced this before, although I admit that things are quite different now.
When I first listened to Speed of Sound The Piano Notes said to me, "Hey, let's do some thinking." I felt a connection to the lyric immediately, as a nostalgic feeling spun my bones for over four minutes in length. I immediately surrendered to a lyric of multiple interpretations, at least on the abstract plane of life at the center of a web of cobwebs.
I knew I was not alone in my fears of taking new paths, and at the same time, the song helped me understand that uncertainty is part of the process and that sooner or later it fades away.

Las aves están muy presentes en la letra de esta canción, de hecho, creo que representan uno de los símbolos más predilectos de la banda. Aves: libertad. La velocidad del sonido viaja en silbidos tan preciosos, tan sencillos, de árbol en árbol. Coldplay tiene algo que otras bandas del poprock no tienen: visión de vida. Una vida que debe ser dura y difícil, pero no por eso menos dulce. Y es aquí donde esta canción de la que les hablo cobra un sentido relevante; la búsqueda de la felicidad propia, de la comprensión sobre el humanismo que desea hallar nuevos senderos.
Tarde o temprano los pies cruzan la meta, pero, ¿te has preguntado por qué temes cruzarla? Ese proceso de navegación a lo desconocido nos aterra, lo sé, pero el barco zarpa una sola vez. Es normal sentir inseguridad, miedo y culpa, pero no es normal sentirlas para siempre. Mil y una posibilidades te esperan, algunas te ayudarán a romper la barrera del sonido, otras solo te traerán decepciones. Toma un horizonte, ve por él y lucha.

Birds are very present in the lyrics of this song I think they represent one of the band's most favorite symbols. Birds: freedom. The speed of sound travels in such beautiful, simple whistles, from tree to tree. Coldplay has something that other pop rock bands don't: vision for life. A life that must be hard, but no less sweet. And this is where this song I'm talking about takes on a relevant meaning; the search for one's happiness, for the understanding of humanism that wants to find new paths.
Sooner or later your feet cross the finish line, but have you ever asked yourself why you are afraid to cross it? That process of sailing into the unknown terrifies us, I know, but the ship sails only once. It is normal to feel insecurity, fear, and guilt, but it is not normal to feel them forever. A thousand and one possibilities await you, some will help you break the sound barrier, and others will only bring you disappointment. Take a horizon, go for it, and fight.
