RE: The awkward waiting stage of releasing my music

in Music3 days ago

I used Amuse to put my album on a few services, but I don't really promote it, so I don't expect a lot of plays. I expect it's a lot of work to get your music heard these days. I don't worry too much about the money side, but I've made more from putting mine on Hive than from Spotify etc.

Good luck with your music.

I don’t have much hope to make a ton of money from Spotify or Apple any time soon. I just wanted to make it available where friends listen to music. Sure they’ll click my link if I send it to them but they may listen once if it’s a platform they aren’t used to using whereas if it’s always available on the platform they’re used to they may listen to it again. Also they are more likely to share it with other people, put it on playlists etc.

I’ll bring them here in other ways 🙃

Thanks for sharing amuse with me. Good to know. Can I hear your music?

I have an album on Bandcamp. I'd like to record more songs and that could be something to work on this year. Last time I used an app to generate backing, but I should be able to do the drumming now.

my first thought was that it reminded me of the Eels! Cool! Hope you keep putting stuff out

Mine just dropped

I'm happy to be compared to Eels. I'm not sure what genre I would fit into.

I'll listen to yours soon. Obviously I've heard some on Hive. We need to build up the audience here. I share a lot of music I find as some does not get much support. We have a few professionals and need to encourage them to stick around.
