Do you warm up before playing? If not, here is your sign to start! Just to add - a warmup can be starting slow, playing some flowing chords, or working on some writing (my general go-to) - think about your hands and forearms as you would if you play a sport. Do you think athletes just go out to compete completely dry? I can tell you they absolutely do not! A guitar warm up should be the same.
I have been at the mercy of a guitar injury, and it sucked! Carpal tunnel... tendonitis... shoulder pain (a little different here), but it all sets you back months or years, and could result in you never playing the same. Let's take care of ourselves! :)
If anyone has shoulder pain and would like me to show you how I have healed that, then please let me know and I will make a video sharing my exercises.
This is all based around chromatic scales, and not getting too caught up in technicalities. Just stay loose, and free. This not only warms up your arms but also gets the mind firing! Enjoy, and if you have any questions, please ask! :)
