Good afternoon, gentlemen, today I want to write about the evolution of hip-hop with its classics and what influenced its style.

So let's start.

"Rapper's Delight" - The Sugarhill Gang (1979)

  • Gentlemen, this is a classic. You could say that they started this movement that has evolved significantly over time. And it was a huge success, so enjoy it.

"The Message" - Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five (1982)

  • Well, the changes in the lyrics of the songs are already beginning. These gentlemen are the ones who revolutionized the genre by incorporating social themes such as poverty and injustice into their songs.

"Juicy" - The Notorious B.I.G. (1994)

  • Here comes a great of the genre, Mr. The Notorious B.I.G. The problems started here because in his lyrics he messed with other districts and you already know how it ended, EVERYONE DEAD.

"California Love" - 2Pac feat. Dr. Dre (1995)

  • Here is another great with incredible talent but you already know the end of the story, first The Notorious B.I.G. dies and then 2Pac dies, rivalry between gangs

"Eazy E" - Snoop Dogg (1990)

  • Here we have the master who is accompanied by all the greats of that time Dr. Dre, 2Pac, Kurupt, Ice Cube, Mobb Deep, Snoop Dogg & Eminem - Still D.R.E

And now they play the classics of our time that gave a more commercial touch.

In this section there are many very good ones and it is very difficult to find a singer with just one song.

House of Pain - Jump Around

  • This song was a hit all over the world. It is a variation of the hip-hop that we know because they mix it with rapping, but it is a very good combination.

Coolio - Gangsta's Paradise

50 Cent - In Da Club

  • This other great one, I recommend you watch the movie of his life to see the beginnings, which were not easy at all, and they also tried to kill him but they didn't succeed. Right now he doesn't sing as far as I know, he's focusing more on being a movie actor.

Eminem - Without Me

The Game - How We Do

Eve - Let Me Blow Ya Mind

  • As you can see, this hip-hop has evolved. They are no longer static sounds, they now introduce many variants, the lyrics are softer and more commercial.

R. Kelly - Fiesta (Remix) (Ft. Jay-Z, Boo & Gotti)

I could go on like this all day long, as there are endless groups with endless songs, but we have to remember the origins, which are nothing like what we hear right now. There are many, such as Old School Hip-Hop, New School Hip-Hop, Gangsta Rap, Conscious Rap, Trap, Boom Bap, Lo-fi Hip-Hop, Mumble Rap, Experimental Hip-Hop, Alternative Hip-Hop, Crunk, Hyphy, Cloud Rap, Chopped and Screwed, and more and more, one genre within another. As you can see, it is evolving, but there are few traces of the hip-hop of yesteryear left.

So I'll stick with the pioneer. Gentlemen, that's all for today, tomorrow more and better.
