I was inspired by my friend @julesquirin and his Album of the day posts to start a "song of the day"
When my partner showed me this a while ago; the lush guitar, powerful vocals and unique percussion caught my ear.
The song is by self produced London Artist Nardeydey and was released October 22, 2019
Lyrically for me it resonates on the feeling of struggling to keep up with the pace of life:
"My dreams are why I can't cook though
Unfinished CV on the bed
Pockets full of thread
Stew in the pan, where you left it"
I imagine the place of falling behind while trying to juggle work, relationships and long terms projects with a mind thats "dreamin" Their words are abstract and a bit vague yet paint a relatable picture. I also love a bit of word play:
"Go easy on the food
'Cause we both know you can't cook
At least that's what you told me"
I really love the production of this song. The first 30 seconds are minimal yet intricate. The vocals are doubled with two tracks from different takes of similar lines, creating slight variations in close to identical phrases. The percussion seems to be a whole blend of samples... very cool. There are so many fun little sonic moments throughout the track; quick drops or cut outs, interesting sounds or samples and an powerful vocal swell around 3:25. The tone of the vocals and guitar is rich and smooth, the whole thing has a warm yet fuzzy on the edges feel I love.
Thanks for taking sometime to read, lemme know what you think of the song!
Solid post and some great music! I like the laid-back vibe that changes up over time. :D
Thanks man! Glad you liked it. Thanks for helping us get the ball rolling 🙂
Welcome to HIVE. Hope you'll have a lot of fun in our (little) community.
As I try to tell your friend, why don't you add the YouTube as embedded code? The reader can then simply ply the song/track while in the post. With bandcamp this is not possible though, but you could continue to add the link to bandcamp as you did in this post.
Hey there! Thanks for the welcome. That's a good idea, I didn't realize you could do that at first but now I've seen a lot of posts with the video embedded. I'll go for that in the future 👍
You can also edit your older posts, so you can make them look better and more practical still :) Maybe not a lot of users will search the history of posts, but some do, like I for instance. Search service I use is provided by the eSteem team, they are called now: Ecency or something like that.

Cool, thanks for the tips!
