Pantera at Knotfest Australia 🀘🀘

As I woke up this morning I sure was dusty maybe even a little bit still drunk from the day before.. But none the less that means I had an amazing day at Knotfest Australia 🀘🀘

Knotfest is a festival put together by the band Slipknot and even though they didn't play this year the one and only gods of metal PANTERA headlined the festival. But with guitarists Dimebag and drummer Vinnie watching down from heaven. So stepping up to the plate was Zac Wild on lead guitar and he did an amazing job, Dimebag would have been proud.
Also Charlie Benante on drums did a fantastic job!

Although this is not the original line up I was so excited to finally see PANTERA🀘🀘

The festival kicked off at 11am but I didn't get in until 3:30pm so I missed some bands but I did get to watch The Hu which are a metal band from Mongolia and they crushed it with their authentic Mongolian instruments.

Followed up by Hailstorm which put on a great show.

Then it was time for the headline acts of Knotfest Australia 2024. Starting off with Lamb Of God.
As always these guys killed it and the crowd was so energetic through out the entire set.

Up next was Disturbed! A band well known for their hit get down with the sickness plus many more. I'm not the biggest fan but the crowd loved it singing along to all the songs.

As Disturbed was playing the Pantera stage was being set up

Then the festival fell dark and the Pantera curtain lit up. This is it. It is finally time to see PANTERA live! The last time PANTERA came to Brisbane was in 1996 and I couldn't get into the gig so I sat outside festival hall and listened to the show from outside.

So growing up with Pantera the anticipation and excitement for the show was immense!!

Video from PANTERA'S vulgar video of old footage of Pantera touring in the 90s which I'm sure every fan had watched a million times played on the big screen. Highlighting Dimebag and Vinnie.

The drums started and the curtain dropped. Pantera opened with "A new level" then all of a sudden the music cut completely out. I was right at the front row and I could hear Phil singing the lyrics himself with no P.A system. The crowed went crazy chanting "turn it up" as this was a huge fuck up from the sound guy.

After about a minute they got the show back on the road and what a show it was. Full of pyrotechnics and playing a solid set list of classics from albums far beyond driven, vulgar display power, the great southern trend kill and more.

Through out the show there were tributes to the late Dimebag Darryl

And Vinnie Paul

A crowed sing along erupted when they played their classic track WALK

Then they closed out the show with fucking hostile!

Wow what a show this was. Now it was time to try and find some friends in the 35,000+ people who are all heading out of the festival.

Luckily I found some outside and caught a taxi home.

PANTERA was definitely one for the books.
