It’s A Journey Not A Trip…

We have to keep living each day as it comes, some days when we get so happy, some days come along with sadness, some come along with joy and celebration, some days with losses and sorrows, some days are filled with wins and some are filled with failure and there are times when it comes as a mix of all these.

Overall, we don't have a choice; we just have to live on and embrace every moment as it comes. No matter the condition, realizing that none of them is permanent is just one achievement in life.

Just like the lifestyle of a butterfly, you can only tell and appreciate the beauty of a butterfly when it fully matures. But there were stages it passed through before it became the beautiful butterfly we appreciate today.

Life and stages

I remember when I was a kid and mum took us to some tutorials, she taught us how to read and tell the clock. We have to understand how to tell the time. My sibling quickly got a grip of it, but I was the last to know it. It was like I was suffering for nothing. I would misplace the hours for minutes and seconds for hours.

After several explanations and examples, I finally got to understand what time is and the usefulness of time. It was like a stage of life I had to pass through then, the way she scolded me, the smiles she gave, just for me to understand all remained in my memory to date.

I thought it was all over so far I knew and understood it, I thought it was a trip and it had ended, I never knew it was a journey.

When I got to primary classes, we were taught time in mathematics. With my previous knowledge about it, it became so easy and simple for me. Others in the class were surprised but deep down I knew what was behind the smile I shared those days.

After that, I thought I was done with anything related to time. Not until I began to check the time every day of my life, did I check the time before I sleep, check the time for lunch, check the time to wake, and schedule my activities with time. And so time became an inevitable part of my life journey.

Life is a journey.

Some moments I realized life is nothing but a journey. When I got to the university, I only had the mindset that I would just have to check the time for my daily activities and since I won't be returning to elementary classes anymore there is nothing to be bothered about.

In the university, we took a course in science and it was Modern Physics. We have some courses on relative motion, space, and time. I never knew the study of time could be any broader, not until I got to that level. Ooh is this not the time I studied back then? It became so tough and I needed extra time to understand it better.

That's just how the journey of life continues. You think the path has ended but when you get to the end you realize there is even a longer route to take than the previous ones. In your journey of life, you can only see where you are and what's around you. You already let go of the past and you can't see what's ahead. So why disturb yourself?

My life journey

Ever since I have realized and understood the reality check about life, little have I bothered myself on what doesn’t concern me. Instead, I am diverting my energy to what truly matters. On the path of life, there will surely be ups and downs, there will be corners and subways, but when a train is focused on its path it won't mind the vehicles on the highway.

We all have our journey. And once it ends everything is over. No matter the level I find myself in, I have to understand that some people are surely way above me and some are below, some are of my level and that's how everyone has theirs.

Learning to live a minimalist lifestyle, I get to know that I have to let go of some burden so I can be free to live on. Since I learned about time from I was a kid till adulthood, then there is still no stop to the challenges of life.

We live in a world that will go to great lengths to fill our shoulders with heavy burdens. Only we have the ability to “Lighten”, to make this journey called life less heavy. Greetings

Thanks you Nancy. You are absolutely right. Only if we could lighten up and journey faster we would realize the ease that comes from it.

Your illustration is powerful and yes, life is indeed a journey. At a point when we think it's the end, we see a new path ahead and we just keep going.

There are so many distractions on the journey and it's important that we pay attention only to what matters...
