Life is easier

Greetings!

A beautiful day to you all! I really hope we're enjoying ourselves as the new year kicked off. You know, one of the lessons that the previous year thought me was to always get happiness. No matter the situation, occurrences or confrontations. Even if nothing wants to give me happiness, I go ahead and get it myself. I have also learnt that I don't need the whole money in this world to stay happy and relax. The secret is making do with whatever is on ground. Imagine, one of the beautiful things I wish I could do or start practicing is visiting gym for regular exercise. So, I tried my best to make enquires of the cost at a nearby gym. Surprisingly, it costs an arm and a leg. Should that however be a thing to worry about? Not at all. I just headed to a market as a minimalist that I am. I got myself a good rope for skipping at a very low amount.
On getting home, I brought out my phone to search other body exercises that can be done at home which includes: pushups, squatting, jumping jacks, jogging in place, which I know I can easily do at home with determination. My husband is also very supportive. I know he wll make a good instructor. I also took my time to download some danceable songs on my phone that I can listen and bodily react to in my house. Hmm, I think I'm really getting the best in my space. That is how thoughtful, minimalistic living can make one be.

Just yesterday, my friends visited me alongside her children. After a while, she suggested we visit a restaurant for some fruit juice. I just asked if they don't mind we pluck some ripe oranges in the compound. It ended up being the best suggestion ever, the children all leaped for joy. I thought they had never seen where oranges are being plucked directly from the tree. They only buy already plucked and peeled ones from the market. Before we could open our eyes, they all were already outside looking up mysteriously at the tree. I also hurriedly went to pick the long stick suitable for the plucking, it was all joy for everyone. The children eyes were very sharp, just when we thought we had plucked all, they would scream again, pointing to other ones. We ended up plucking more than enough oranges for the afternoon. Just imagine, we ended up taking fresh and natural fruit that is void of preservative chemicals, right in our very own compound.

Do you know, homemade smoothies are the best. Oh my God! Blending different kinds of fruit together is another way to chill at home and forget one's sorrow. I often surprise my husband with some chilled smoothie whenever he comes home tired. I do blend banana, groundnut, watermelon apples with some milk and ice. Oh! It even brings my husband to me everytime. He knows what he gets in the comfort of his home is far better than what is outside and mind you, it's at a minimal cost. Why wouldn't we embrace minimalist lifestyle.

Also, I take everything slow and steady, whenever I'm upset or disturbed. I just take a chair outside and sit under the tree for a cool breeze and tranquility. The atmosphere ushered in some better solutions to my worries. Some friends asked me if the breeze I get, sitting under the tree is the same as the ambience gotten in a full AC restaurant. I smiled and nodded my head, only if she could just experience it for once. Nothing can be compared to nature. I can have serenity in my own space. It's not until I go extra Miles to get or have much money in my pockets. We also discover life is easier, sweeter, lovelier when we embrace and make do with what we have. I'm enjoying this lifestyle, I tell you.

Thanks for reading.

I agree, you don't need a gym membership to keep healthy. Thankfully, there are loads of online instructors (and apps, I hear!) to train you and get you in top shape. Have you tried Youtube workouts? They usually don't require any (or very few) props and work wonders.

As for the oranges, I very much agree. I hate paying for fresh juice in a restaurant, since it costs an arm and a leg. For the price of one glass at the restaurant/cafe, you could have fresh juice at home every day. Lovely post :)

Thanks for this lovely comment @honeydue

Adopting the minimalist style in your life is much more than living with little, it is learning to solve with what you have at hand while still enjoying life, just as you did to meet your exercise goal and natural orange juice.

At home we also prefer natural juices, they are not only delicious but also healthy, they make you feel much better and you enjoy them without having to spend too much.

Absolutely right @jemima1996
