A girl after my own heart!! I declutter all the time, but, I think it is from moving all the time with the job. I am not a minimalist, but, I don't like clutter or things that are not used, but, stored away. If I don't use it/look at it/enjoy it, why have it?
I do a little cleaning every day, so it feels like I never really have cleaning days. Having things organized, anyone can walk into the house and find things.
That said, you have done an amazing job in such a small space. I never thought of the kitchen that way, having it all open used to make me feel like it was too open, but, what you say makes sense, plus, you don't accumulate that way.
Room by room. It is the way to go! Excellent ideas!
Hello @dswigle, thank you very much for your insightful comment.
Your frequent moves must have led to mastery in decluttering. I can imagine it becomes instinctive and automatic for you to let things go when they're not needed or treasured.
I would have preferred the kitchen cupboards to have cabinet doors in the home we're renting but they came with open shelves. Translucent plastic bins and glass containers helped group items and create order. I can't wait to get my hands on in the kitchen but will gradually tackle everything room by room. 😊
