If you've ever had to carry a very heavy suitcase around, knowing fully well that a large percentage of the clothes inside are clothes you absolutely do not need, then you already know the problems of a big wardrobe.
Minimalism wasn't always a thing for me, because for one I didn't even know what it meant. But I'm always conscious of my wardrobe size because of the space needed, cost and stress.
My present job came with a few advantages, one of which is free accomodation. I have quite a lot of space with less to put in them. Working from Mondays to Saturdays only leaves me with Sunday for any major cleaning . Although work is usually fun, one of the advantage for me is that we all have assigned work clothes, so you really don't need much clothes outside of the workspace.
Less clutter at home also allows me make the most of my space because I have easy access to everything around and it has proven quite beneficial especially on Monday mornings when I'm in a rush and need to quickly find something. By maintaining a minimalist space, It leaves me with ample time to finish up on chores and pursue other activities that brings me joy like reading and hanging out with friends.
A large percentage of the traveling I've ever done has always been a road trip (I've used the rail system on a few times) and If you've ever been on a road trip using the public transport system in ny country, no one ever reminds you to carry less. Just the way you have them at the airport where you pay for any luggage that's above the minimum allowed weight. The same applies with our road transportation systems, albeit in a different manner.
For one, there's no real way to actually check how much weight your bag is, whether it is above or below the allowed weight limit simply because there's no real concept of weight limit for road travel. Everything is done visually and if you're carrying a suitcase that already looks too big, you're already at a disadvantage as you get to pay more.
I prefer a small carry-on that contains simply the essentials, making it easier to pack especially when it's a short period of about a week or a little above that. This saves me both time and cost because my bag is usually quite small and looks insignificant compared to other travelers.
No one ever talks about it, but there's a mental stress that comes with hoarding, especially when you have to keep track of a lot of items which in most cases you don't really need.
My wardrobe is a very small one, and a lot of times it saves me the trouble of worrying about what to wear. Immediately I open the wardrobe, I can see everything at once and making a choice becomes way easier.
I absolutely hate ironing clothes and even though they're my clothes, it feels like a forced chore. With less clothes to worry about, I simply iron and fold them until I need to wear them again. It makes the mental stress of looking forward to the next ironing schedule less intense.
Also, worrying about what to carry on a travel has equally gotten easier over the years. With fewer items and luggage to keep track of, it's easier to enjoy the journey instead of worrying about the stress to come after I arrive at my destination.
Thanks for reading up till this point. This is in response to the kiss topics for the week.

To work and receive free accommodation is one of my fantasies! But yes, nothing like going through life unburdened, neither externally nor internally. The lighter, the freer. Greetings
It really is. Worrying about rent is stressful on its own and I'm glad I got the offer.
Greetings as well and thanks for stopping by.
