There are some places at home where I can keep several things without them actually being seen, I call them "secret hiding places", but they are just simple things that prevent other objects from being seen, and that actually make my life easier when it comes to organizing my house.
All grandmothers used to use tablecloths, mine did and although none of mine used to weave, there were always tablecloths in their homes made of other types of fabrics, so I grew up with this idea in mind, today covering a simple table with a piece of fabric seems something that is not used much anymore, but in my case I think it gives a special touch to a place, although for me they should always be in neutral colors and without too many figures.
So that's what I did with a small table I have in the living room of my house, it has two compartments below so in one I place my bags and my husband's bags (which are not too many) well arranged and in the one below, I place our books and magazines. But on top goes my basic tablecloth, but special for me, when I stretch it out there is nothing more than the decoration I put on the table, and it looks much neater than if the tablecloth was not there.
On the other hand I have drawers and although this is something that almost everyone has, the truth is that drawers are very useful for me. I know their function is to store clothes, but I take one of the drawers and in it I keep all those small things that easily appear in different places of the house causing messes, from the products I use for my hair, to bigger products such as alcohol for disinfecting or for any emergency and hydrogen peroxide.
Having a special place or "secret hiding place" for things like this has two advantages, if something happens and I have to think fast, I know exactly where to look, but the other advantage is when it comes to tidying up the house, having a specific place to keep these things makes my job easier, it's just a matter of putting them in their place and not thinking about what will be a good place for them, saving time.
These small things are the ones that cause the most clutter from my point of view, one tends not to give them importance until all these little things become a huge mess, that's why it's great that when they are in a drawer, after they are stored just close it and that's it. These things are out of sight and don't cause any visual clutter and no one will see that they are there.
On the other hand, I have always had problems with boxes, packaging and all those things, I feel that they cause clutter, take up space and also serve no purpose, so I get rid of them. In the case of medications for example, I have a small zippered cloth bag in which I put all my blister packs of medications. Since these have their name written on the back, it's just a matter of reading their name to know which one it is.
Being in my cloth bag, it is also easier to store it anywhere and I usually store it in the same small drawer that I keep my other small things and my products but I always put it on top of them, because it is quicker to take out. Storing neatly can be a little bit difficult, but you always find a way to do it. Making everything simpler and neater is always the goal.

The good thing about proper storage is that it make it easier to find even small objects that would have been scattered all over the place. The stuff's are well organized.
I remember when I lived with my parents, my mom had these white decorative tablecloths that she always ensured were neatly arranged. She also had matching pieces for the arms of the cushions, giving our home a warm and cozy feel.
