Knowing I am not the sort of person that begs people, especially financially, I'll end up having no one to turn to, which will leave me in a mess.

There's nothing shameful (or begging) about asking for money or items that you lent to someone else. Rather, it's learning to respect yourself and set correct boundaries so that your kind self doesn't get trampled.
Interesting take, though I guess we need to go through some experiences in time to develop such knowledge.

Yeah, there isn't. But with humans, they can make you feel bad for asking, especially those close to you.
