My Simple Storage Hacks in Staying Organised

Keeping things organised has been my forte for a very long time now and it's something I was taught while growing up. I can still remember when I was very young and living with my parents, the whole house would be clumsy that you wouldn't see where to place your legs because things were scattered everywhere, like spoons, papers, etc at every corner, having to step on water poured on the carpet which would make you slip/fall or having food particles littered on the floor and then stepping on them, it always irritates me and would immediately do the needful. What do you expect when you have little ones at home?

There are ways that aren't expensive of how I keep everything in my home simple and clean without finding A in B's space. Ways like nails on the wall to hang my bags, photo album, hangers etc.

I've learned to organise my clothes, both the clean and dirty ones by separating them. I don't always wash my clothes, but I do that once or twice a week, and this laundry basket serves as a place where I store the dirty ones so I wouldn't be confused about which one is clean or dirty.

Also, I have 2 racks (check the first image) where I place most of my stuff instead of just placing them anywhere in the house and would start doing an ultimate search for any item I want. Having these racks helps me easily find the stuff I need for the moment.

There is a small bag that was shared during my grandmother's burial, very small and portable to keep my make-up items, brush and other things when I am travelling, making my bag neat and organised. This saves more space when packing stuff.

How about the kitchen? This is one place I don't leave disorganised at all because I have realized one thing: when people enter your home, the first place they'd target to see is the kitchen. If your kitchen is a messy one, they feel scared eating in your house because they would have conclude you are dirty. This is why I keep my kitchen clean and organised, with more space to do whatever I want to do.

I was excited when I moved into this house and saw this storage plank where I could put some rubber plastics for my foodstuff, especially with how small the kitchen is. Having this helped to free up space and stay organised. There are different plastics that I store in raw foods and arrange accordingly. This keeps the place neat and easily fetched when I need any of them.

My utensils are sectioned in a plate rack, too and not just scattered around the whole kitchen. Just like a friend I know, it's always hard for me to eat over at her place with how disorganised her kitchen is and yes, this is what I also look for, too when I go to people's places and you can never find me eating or staying longer because of different smells coming out from each angle.

Being organised is a practice that keeps you clean and healthy including your home. You can move around wherever you like and not being restrained by stuff littered around. You also save yourself from those rodents that may want to visit when everywhere is choked and clumsy. I can't remember the last time I saw a cockroach in my home and that's because they don't have anything to feed on. Lol.

Isn't it more breathable when our space is more organized, clean and everything was in right places. Moving will be easier and you'll be more motivated to do your things with the awesome environment ✨.

Very breathable, my friend. We feel more at peace when there are enough spaces to move around and feel good. Thanks for your contribution, Ruffa ❤️

When you keep things in a good way, you will enjoy your home because you will have a good air to breath and more space.

Exactly. A cool fresh air. Thank you for reading.

Thank you, too.

I love the colors of your room. Your space is well kept and tidied.

Thank you, sis 😘

You also save yourself from those rodents that may want to visit when everywhere is choked and clumsy. I can't remember the last time I saw a cockroach in my home and that's because they don't have anything to feed on. Lol.

When I was in high school, the place we moved into at first had cockroaches, and they were so gross. We cleaned everything, and painted the walls (which is supposed to help drive them away), and had a cat (sometimes cats will hunt them), but we never fully got rid of them until our neighbor that we shared walls with (it was a duplex house) moved out and we got new neighbors who were also clean. I felt so bad for my friends in apartment buildings with them, because they would just move from one apartment to the other, so even if they used chemicals to kill them, they weren't gone for long. I think that experience is at least partly why I'm so paranoid about bugs now.

Wow. That can be gross...I once lived in such an apartment, too, that was during my degree studies. No matter how hard we tried chasing them away, they will keep coming back. Today, we would deal with cockroach, tomorrow, it would be ants, next, rats, millipedes and the likes. We never really enjoyed that apartment and I lived for over 3 years coping and managing because it was closer to the school. It was a bad experience then but thank God nothing of such where I moved in.

Your items looks so arranged and your room looks extremely neat from the picture. It even looks less cluttered, I love it☺️

Yes, I arranged my stuff neatly because I hate things been scattered everywhere 😑
Thank you 😊

Your room is simple and well organized. The storage plank idea was also used by mom back then while I was still living with them, we usually keep things like pots, kettles, different sizes of bowls e.t.c. at the top. It was really useful in creating good space in the kitchen.

Yes, those planks are very useful and make movement easier and create more freer spaces.

Hehe. I think I also need to capture the picture like you shared if I want to participate kiss contest as in my home there are similar arrangement.

The laundry basket and the storage plank are useful tools which I also use in my own place. It helps a lot to ensure the space is well organised.
The first picture looks really cool, like your camera did some special angulation. Or is it my eyes?

That's a neat and well organized space you've got there.

Thank you ❤️
