From whom, I inspired the most!

I have a bad habit. I easily get influenced by others, especially by my close ones. It happens with my favorite personalities too. Yesterday, when I was looking at this kiss prompt, I was thinking about whom I got more influenced by the media. And the first name that came to my mind is Paola Merrill, the artist behind the youtube channel -The Cottage Fairy. In her channel, she shares her artistic vignettes along with her minimalist lifestyle.

Imagine this, you are scrolling on social media and suddenly you found someone very interesting. Then you go to his/her profile and find out that this is the person whom you want to be. I found the exact same thing with Paola Merrill. She is one of a kind to me!

Paola Merrill is an amazing painter. This talented lady is a teacher and artist who is from Washington State. Later, she moved to the rural outskirts of Washington. Though her main job is a preschool teacher, she found interest in painting, dying clothes and much more!

When I started looking at her videos, it felt like I got possessed by her! She is a whole package of a perfect human being! I started to admire her artistic style, minimalist lifestyle. I think I can’t stop myself from praising her voice! Paola speaks very softly, calmly in a soothing voice. I think anybody will admire the way she speaks. Whether she’s talking about the changing seasons, the importance of self-care, or her latest art project, her words bring a sense of peace which works like meditation to me.

The thing which attracts me the most about her is the way of living. In this high fashioned world, finding moments of peace is too tough. She gives the audience a peaceful look into a life of simplicity, art, and mindfulness. As an artist myself, I find her not only beautiful but also a powerful reminder of the joy of living a minimalist and meaningful life. Paola’s way of life shows how powerful simplicity can be. In a world full of consumerism and digital distractions, she shows the way how we can live to the fullest and get the utmost pleasure from nature. She tries to focus on the things that truly matter like nature, creativity, and meaningful connections. She wonderfully portrays how we can find happiness in small things. Like gardening, making homemade gifts, designing my own clothes, preparing meals, or simply enjoying quiet moments with tea!

In her art, I find inspiration for myself too! She has the ability to beautifully capture nature, rural life, and the peaceful beauty of the Pacific Northwest. When I paint, I try to give a homely soothing vibe by my art and I found the exact same thing in her drawings too. I deeply admire how she uses colors, light, and shadows to create scenes that feel both real and magical.

Another thing that I learnt from her is that living simply doesn’t mean living without; it means appreciating what we have and getting rid of the clutter that stresses us out. She taught me how to practice gratitude, how to overcome fear, and bring out the best version of myself.

Today, stress and fast-paced living often dominate our lives. Where Paola shows how to slow down, reconnect with nature, and find beauty in simple things.

The Cottage Fairy is more than just a YouTube channel; it’s a peaceful haven and a source of endless inspiration. I always dream of living in the countryside, detaching myself from the voices and pollution of city life, making a home in nature, decorating the whole house with my homemade DIY products, keeping a pet, making a small garden in the backyards. And I find all these things in her channel. Ah, wish I could find her a few years back! Life would be much happier!
