Yesterday, I arranged to catch up with a friend of mine, before he leaves to go see his family. We were going to go listen to some live music, but instead, we ended up going on a hike through a dry riverbed, by the light of the moon. We could have walked along the road, which would have been quicker and easier. But I love an adventure and trekking in the dark, is something I really enjoy.
I've walked this riverbed before, but in the other direction, so this way was new to us both. It started out easy, but then it got narrower and more overgrown. Before we knew it, we were stooping so low, that we were almost crawling and laughing. Laughing so much, that at times we had to stop walking. It was a lot of fun. Fun I would have missed out on, if we had taken the road, the way most people take.
It's important to me, that I push myself at times. That I shake things up a little. I'm not really one that follows a routine. I like my days to be a little different. I like going to bed at night, not knowing what each new day will bring. For sure I have some days that are similar especially when I'm working, like harvesting Olives for example, but that work only lasts a few weeks and then I'll find another job. I'm kept pretty busy with my girls, so I don't really have time, for a full time job. I much prefer, getting to do different types of work anyway.
It makes life, much more interesting as well.
Do you enjoy living on autopilot, or do you take a more spontaneous approach to your daily activities?
Share all the benefits of doing things the way you do.
Above, is the latest question from the Minimalist Community.
I think in life, there are some situations that we respond to in autopilot. Things that we need to.
But life is too short, to live it, with your days on repeat. Doing the same thing, day in and day out. Even if its just to take a different route home. To Dance instead of walking. To just surrender to your day and see where it takes you. That's really how I like to live. Just letting my life flow, because then I get to really enjoy what comes my way.
Hey there Truck than you did the journey through the forest of life. Onward toward the light.
Thank you @julescape, onwards and upwards xxxx
To the moon.
Really spontaneous. I love those photographs ❤️
Thanks xx
Doing different types of works each day will ease the mind and will not leave us in the boredom area we were. The live music would be better but the hike were awesome, because you had the best time of taking a different route, and seeing things differently, rather than the routes you took in the first time when you visit the riverbed.
The photographs of the rocks are awesome dear friend.
Cheers @harryhandsome, yeah I think we made the best choice for us both, doing our night time trek xx
