Hey Hivers! Hope you all are doing well. Today is a story day. I'm going to tell you guys about a trek, to the highest peak of Himalayas and how me and my friends planned this trip in just 1 hour.
If you're one of them who always look for challenging and fun filled wanderlust experiences then you're going to love this trek to Churdhar! It's my second visit to this place.
Churdhar Peak is in Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh. The highest peak in the outer Himalayas at the height of 3647 meters where you can get to see what heaven looks like.
I started my journey from Solan, my two friends were with me this time. The best part about this trip was that we planned this trip within like 1 hour. I was doing some editing at studio and suddenly Nikita called me, " Aastha let's go to Churdhar ". And I was like yes, we’ll plan something for this on
weekend. She said no we've to leave within 1 hour.
I was so excited. We were already late but also starving, so decided to have some momos first. There was no hope that we'll get the bus but luckily got one bus to Rajgarh, our next stop.
So, the journey begins! We reached Rajgarh after 2 hours, had some snacks and tea. And now we've to leave to Nohradhar. It was 7pm and no bus was available. We thought we're stuck. But then we started walking on the road and got lift from one car. Thank god. We reached Nohradhar around 9:30pm (from where the trek starts) looked for home stay, had dinner and then slept.
We woke up at 7 am next morning. Got ready, had breakfast and started the trek at 8:30. Nohradhar is around 18 km away from Churdhar. Initially it is an easy path but, in the end, it becomes extremely steep and almost vertical, this is the most popular route for trekkers.
Personally, I feel like trekking is less about physical strength and more about mental toughness. Specially when you are with your friends having fun, laughing, cracking jokes you’ll notice how much distance you covered within a limit of time.
Best month for this trek is May-June when you’ll get to see more greenery, lots of colourful flowers and beautiful weather. The trek passes through a dense forest but you will never be alone as many locals frequently trek from route only.
There are three stops before you reach your destination. You can have your lunch here and take some rest. Also you got chance to interact with the locals here, in the shop. We asked some people about their life routine, how they're able to manage things, bringing all stuff to the top of mountain, and it was very difficult but interesting. While listening to their stories we ordered Maggie because maggie in mountains is the best food. It tastes different and refreshing when you are eating it at the top of the mountain!
After trekking continuously we finally reached the Churdhar peak at 3:00 PM. A huge Shiva Statue is situated at the top of the peak. There is also a pujari who would tell you the story of this place.
When you reach at the top trust me you'll forget all of your tiredness and pain in body. It's like magic and an amazing experience. Me and my friends stay there for an hour. Cold and fresh breeze, peacefull environment. You can feel yourself at the top of all mountains, at the top of clouds.
It was one of the best trips and we enjoyed plus learnt alot. Thank you guys for sticking till last. See you in next blog.
