It was quite well known and popular in the 1960's and 70's amongst the hippie people who were into the myths and legends of old England.
It was an important place of pilgrimage in the distant past but as religion has faded it has now become a national park and important nature reserve and a tourist attraction although having said that.
It does still attract many pilgrims for it's religious significance. 👍🏼
