It's been a long time since we've experienced a "proper rain storm," but today was the day. For the past few weeks, we've had quite warm temperatures, exceeding 30 degrees Celsius, but the heat that arrived today was something else.
There was rain and thunder in the forecast when I checked it in the morning, but I didn't think anything of the sort would happen. Around 6:30 PM, the rain started, and in a blink, it turned into a rainstorm. In a few cities in the surrounding counties, the poor bastards were forced to face ice rain, but all we got was a lot of water poured on us. It rained so heavily that the streets got almost blocked.
I went for a short drive during a break in the rain... I had a haircut appointment, but the barber didn't show up, so I thought I should see how our sewer system was handling the challenge, and to be honest, it didn't do a great job in the southern part of the city. At one point, I found myself driving on the sidewalk.
Once the show was over, we got a beautiful double rainbow in the sky, and I had to make my way to the end of town to snap a few pics in my attempt to get the perfect shot. I'll let you decide which one is best – my favorite is the first one.
The flowers around my house didn't have a good time, as you'll see in the following pics. The rain was heavy, and they were all full of water, with their petals looking pretty damaged, if you ask me. Life is full of surprises, and there's nothing we can do about it. Tomorrow will be a new day, and it looks like rain season is over.
