I'm not much of a photographer, most of the photo posts I've published here have been from my smartphone but I got to play around with @hiddenblade's camera when we met up in Thailand recently so I figured I'd post some of the shots I took. I'll give her part of the posts beneficiary rewards as thanks. :D
It's quite a long story of how we met, but I should summarize it because many here would enjoy it I reckon since we met on chain. Or well, through discord, but still cause of this blockchain.
One day I received a dm from her when she was curating for curie that ocd may have curated an abuser she had been tracking down, I thanked her for the warning, removed our votes and chatted a little. A few weeks went by and we were looking for more curators to join ocd so I had @anomadsoul invite some that came to mind I thought would do a good job at it, not sure who they all were right now and who is still with us, but due to that dm I asked him to also consider @hiddenblade as one of them. "playing hard to get" as she would point out to me now since I had @anomadsoul contact her without mentioning it was my idea. There was still many weeks that went by until our next messages in dm's, I kind of liked that in a way, not that I didn't want to continue texting with her as she did have my interest from the very beginning but being in the position I was in you have to be careful, i.e. a lot of people want different things from me which makes befriending them not that easy so I often used to tend on my own things and work I was doing but was relieved that she wasn't in such a rush to re-open contact and that it was me after a couple months who dm'd her back about something curation related. After that day we continued talking every day and whoever that abuser was that got us in contact in the first place and anomadsoul for inviting her to ocd, thanks. :D
Unfortunate times were ahead of us, though, not only was steem hive trading very low at the time making a trip to the other side of the world quite expensive, but shortly after that the pandemic hit closing down the borders of her country completely. A very long, long distance relationship ensued but we somehow made it work long enough until we got to meet. We decided to meet up in Thailand as it'd be a bit different for both of us. I had already arrived and been there for a couple of days when she arrived, after doing the covid test and the hotel verifying her negative results we didn't waste more time and I went and met her instantly. Since then we've been together now for a few months and it's been going great. :D
Anyway, that's as short as I could put it as I meant this post to be about photography but maybe another time I could dig deeper into our story.
Us eating at a restaurant chain called Gyuma that I really liked and quickly became my favorite in Thailand. There were only two of them in existence there so we could only eat there during our stay in Bangkok and I kind of miss it now. :D

This hotel had a pretty nice swimming pool that we went to a couple times during our stay, although most of it was spent outside exploring which you can find more photos of on @hiddenblade's posts, warning, most of them may be of random cats she had to take pics of.
Now be prepared for my amazing photography skills, if you are imagining me taking photos from the ground in a weird photographer position I'd have to disappoint you but luckily I had a good subject to photograph so I think they turned out alright.

We had a pretty good time in bangkok and enjoyed that hotel very much. Might post more about our travels in the near future, hope you liked some of the pics and our story, who knows, maybe you'll find your significant other on the chain as well. ;)

It was nice hearing how it all went down. I commend you for holding out. I was a chicken back then to try a long distance relationship and never stuck it out (which was a good thing because I wouldn’t have the awesome husband and kids that I have today ☺️).
I really don’t know much about her but she seems to be such a sweet woman and of course she’s very pretty. I’m happy for the both of you.
Oh and looks like you have a lot of pressure to 🆙 your photo game so I hope you get to it. 😄

This is so dope man! The fact that you all managed to wait so long just to meet shows that you can endure some pain together, which strengthens any bond. Really cool how you all met because of Hive and it had to be difficult to wait to finally meet in person.
Photos look great too. blade is... well you know, she has GREAT HAIR 😉 and the hotel looks pretty amazing, love that pool. I'd love to eventually be able to visit Thailand.

I really wanna go back to bangkok one last time before I return to europe, it's pretty amazing and wish I had gone to hivefest back when it was hosted there.
I can confirm that my patience is currently at an ATH. The reward of something you wait longer for is much better than instant gratification.
I love seeing amazing things and being to places that I've never been before, but I HATE the traveling process. I needs me an anti-gravity spaceship for faster flights ASAP!
lol yeah tell me about it, I dislike flying as well, mostly cause my ears get wrecked during landing for some reason (have tried with some special earplugs but doesn't seem to help). Like I know it's cause of the pressure or whatever but it's so weird that nothing happens during takeoff, only during landing. Either way, having ear pain for a few days after each land is quite annoying.
Maybe Elon's travel spaceships will have a better solution for that not to mention be much faster.
I've never had issues with my ears like that, but the rest of my body is wrecked after a long flight. Makes that first day there about nothing but recovery.
Now that is a vehicle I'd spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on. It would change the way we live in a BIG way.
I love following your and @hiddenblade 's story here on both your blogs - it is awesome! And I am so glad it is working out the way it is for you. I can somewhat relate because I met my significant other - ahem - about 2 0 years ago via internet, nothing unusual today, I guess but back then - not so usual.
Oh, and the pics you took - not too shabby and yes, the model definitely helps but I dare say you might grow into a decent photographer yet - LOL

Meeting friends from the blockchain is good. This space connects a lot of people to the physical world and they get to know each other more and learn from each other as well.
It's been 8 months since I joined hive and I have a couple of friends here too who we communicate with via phone and assist each other in any way possible and I love that.

It's been nearly 3 years since I went abroad and almost 15 years since I went to Thailand.
@acidyo Wow. Meeting your significant half via HIVE is worthy of a Hollywood movie story. I have been married to my good lady for a number of years and hence am not looking for significant other on Hive. However, I have made a number of friends and in-spite of being sort of a 'digital dinosaur', am trying to do my bit for communities by writing good posts, delegating HP, sharing some rewards etc. My effort is very small compared to yours due to my small HP but I will keep doing what I can.
