Hello lovely Hiveans !
Today I like to share some pictures of snow. This alone does not sound to interesting, but in this case it will be snow that aggregated some really nice ice crystals, which makes it really beautiful to look at .. But see it for yourself ^^
Aggregated Snow Crystals
About two weeks ago there was the last snowfall in the area here. Since that day the nights constantly featured degrees below zero, ranging from -6 °C to -12 °C. Even during the days it never got warmer than 2 °C to 5 °C. Thus, the snow did not melt away and the low temperatures during the night made it possible that the air moisture could aggregate as crystals onto the existing snow. The snow has a nice and shiny appearance now and one could even indicate the direction of the wind, as the moisture aggregated in accordance to the wind direction. Unfortunately it can't be seen here very clearly, but I hope that you can detect it a little bit ^^
I took two close-up pictures of the snow too, so that you get a better view on the nice crystals that aggregated over the time. I hope that you can imagine how these crystals are present everywhere and make the snow surfaces really beautiful. It even just aggregated on the walls and ground, hehe.
The snow is very fragile and as soon as you touch it, it falls apart, a bit like snow dust. So its nothing that you can use to build a proper snowman or snowballs without putting in a lot of effort and compression work. I tried it with my son, but we were only able to form tiny snowballs from it and gave it up quite quickly ^^
Awesome Snow Flowers
At some places I even found water ice aggregates that reminded me on icy flowers. These were especially beautiful and left me standing there admiring them for quite a while.
These flowers did not always appear in bushes, but most often as flat ice petals directly on the ground. It's quite fascinating how many different structures can be found here in the snow around and these here are just from around my place. There must be even more gorgeous structures around in other places that are still to discovered ^^
On most cases the flower petals covered some larger areas, which looked just stunning. We never saw them around in the bis cities in Germany, so I considered myself super lucky to see these.
Here is another example of some ice flowers that I was able to spot, that shows how dense these petal carpets can grow in time.
I hope that you like these pictures. It is probably not easy to transport a clean picture of the overall impression that the snow all around here creates if you see it for real, but I imagine that you got a crude picture now. If you see these awesome crystal and flower landscapes in the sun light, where the light gets reflected and the whole surface begins to sparkle, its just breathtaking ;)

And who would say no? there are animals that freeze completely... Metabolically they are dead and come back to life in the thaw!
I heard from frogs that are able to do this, but no other species so far .. I always found this interesting, but never was able to see such a wonder with my own eyes 👀
Excellent post, beautiful snow/ice flowers. I can imagine a field or pond covered in sparkling gems.
Have a lovely day.
Thank you ^^ .. It's really beautiful, especially in the sun light 😉
Very pretty snow flowers obviously not something we see, interesting how the formation comes into being.
Oh yes, physics can create the most beautiful structures ^^ .. and water is outstanding in its properties for the most creative ones, hehe 😁 .. I hope for far more spectacular views over here ☺️
Snow roses most beautiful it looks similar to cactus plants except inclusively white. Enjoy the new surroundings and the work, hope the family settle and enjoy!
Gorgeous photos!! I'm so glad you found time to take a few photos!
I could not withstand 🤣 .. these sight was just too beautiful ^^
Wow, schön! Richtige kleine Eisblumen, so hab ich das noch nie gesehen, danke fürs teilen !LUV

Hehe, gerne 😉 .. war auch bin und weg Al's ich die hier ueberall entdeckt hab 😜
Wow, this looks like magic! I remember that one time in summer we had a thunderstorm with hail. The hail was lying on the grass in our garden and the hail was about the size of a walnut and it looks like a snow crystal. I never saw that before and never saw it again. Have to check if I find the pictures somewhere. Thanks for your beautiful post. 🙂
hail is very spectacular too 😉 .. but a size of a walnut is kind of rate .. it can also be quite terrifying, depending where you are at that moment .. nature can be so awesome and full of surprises 🤗
Yay! 🤗

Water for sure is magical .. My favourite molecule of all 😁 .. I have not heard of that experiments yet, but now that you mentioned them I will definitely look them up. They already sound super interesting .. Thanks for the visit and the info 👍 .. Have a great day ahead 👋
