If I say the word horse I think of strength, freedom, nobility, the wind hitting my ears when I can ride on them.

There is no huntsman without a horse, because the mountain is immense, but above all things, the mountain is a very lonely place.

No hay montero sin caballo, porque el monte es inmenso, pero sobre todas las cosas es un sitio muy solitario.

The huntsmen, I think, are like those monks or hermits who, under the pretext of sanctifying themselves or worshiping a god, distance themselves from everything to embrace nature.

Los monteros, pienso, son como esos monjes o anacoretas que, con el pretexto de santificarse o adorar a un dios, se alejan de todo para abrazar la naturaleza.

And a horse knows how to find dangers and evade them, knows how to shorten the distances. And, according to what a huntsman told me, horses also know how to listen.

Y un caballo sabe encontrar los peligros y evadirlos, sabe acortar las distancias. Y, según me dijo un montero, los caballos también saben escuchar.
